Ask for a second opinion. I got diagnosed with ptsd, complex type and DID with the icd 10. F44.8 and F43.1. All i did was report my symptoms, got people around me to report symptoms and sessions over 3 months ish to get assessed and diagnosed. Filled out some papers with questions but never gave it to them as i lost them lol. But they had gotten all they needed anyway. They knew a lot about dissociation and ptsd and have worked with other DID patients. Maybe try find a specialist in trauma and dissociation.
as far as i read, F43.1 is still "classic" PTSD. there is no CPTSD in the ICD10 (atleast not in the ICD-10-GM-2024, which is the version this country uses). they told me their opinion is that i dont fulfill the diagnostic criteria for PTSD and that treatment for BPD made more sense for me which is why they gave me a BPD diagnosis. honestly it could easily be that i just dissociated away from these things and completely forgot about my symptoms, that wouldnt be the first time..... thanks though, i will ask a different professional (one more knowledgeable of dissociation and trauma, rather than the general psychologists) and hopefully be able to get better treatment...
Yes but it says complex type to specify more which type of ptsd even though it’s not its own diagnosis in the icd 10. So it says f43.1 ptsd, complex type on my papers. Also did is often misdiagnosed as bpd and bp but you can have all or some of them in addition to
thats very interesting tbh!! the code itself (if you search for it in the GM-2024 version) shows up as only PTSD. which is fine, im not here to debate that, im just saying, i wish the psych ward staff would have done that for me too since i do think this is more complex to me than just PTSD but they just said BPD (i was also misdiagnosed as BP before btw) and then just attributed every dissociative symptom to that.... they did acknowledge that i have multiple traumas but they didnt seem to know that theres not just "classic" ptsd symptoms?? like there are more than just picture flashbacks to trauma but they didnt seem to see that, i dont know. they just completely ignored my dissociative symptoms... anyway, i will actually go to a specialist and hope that helps.. otherwise im out of ideas.. its kinda tiresome to be fighting for myself constantly tbh..

I'm not really sure what you can do, we're struggling with that ourselves. I love your username by the way. Is that your system name also? I really like it.
oh, thanks! yes it originally was haha, and i guess it still kinda is, i just struggle with being frontlocked for a while now so ive kinda shed the name a bit tbh.
That's cool. How did the system name come to be? Do you like dogs or so? Our name is The Healing System We call ourselves that, that's our system name, because… It's for a couple reasons. A lot of us in the system are healers, And we are healing ourselves, we are working on healing from our trauma. And we will heal,
that sounds very nice. :)
yeah Kinda.. our host loves canines and loves to draw them and some of us are canines/wolves/werewolves too so the name kinda checks out, haha..

I love wolves!!! 😆😁
yes, wolves are very resilient, beautiful creatures!
Im American so I’m sure it’s a different process in Europe, but try to find someone who specializes In DID And dissociation/trauma, Most medical professionals don’t know shit about it. Also…I was also misdiagnosed with BPD. It’s not uncommon, especially if you’re afab. I’d write more but I’m in a hurry right now. Good luck.
I get the feeling you are mixing things - if psychiatric cannot you officially diagnose with F code, they still can say they agree with your self assessment- which seems they did not. Your emotions are not about diagnosis but by the fact that they dismissed your symptoms. They can validate them even without official diagnosis. In order to be diagnosed with CPTSD you also need to meet PTSD criteria. If you do not have them - CPTSD cannot be diagnosed. Secondly - why do you want F code assigned? This code will impact your life as it can be seen my other medical professionals, government authorities and can put limitations on to your life. As there is no medication for DID, I assume it’s validation. In that case the best scenario is to go to therapy (which is the only “medication” assigned to DID) and discuss this there and get validation. As you are already in therapy it seems you are just frustrated (understandable) that they dismissed some of your symptoms and assigned BPD.
pushing for a diagnosis is considered one of the red flags someone is malingering or has a factitious condition, hence why you won't get one. treatment these days is focused on treating actual symptoms, not the diagnosis itself, so it's irrelevant to have one. i know it can be frustrating though
