Is anyone having issues with Uber double charges? Whenever I get a Uber ride charged in 2 parts (typically, the initial estimate and the correction after adding congestion charges, waiting time and so on), the second part gets charged twice. As an example, yesterday I paid £44 for a ride, as an initial £40 charge, and a second £4 to add to the correct total of £44; however, this morning I have a second £4 charge, as a double payment for the second part.
I think it's just how Uber processes payments, something similar happens to me with at petrol stations. I get charged a £99 hold amount, which is then refunded and I get charged the actual amount after a day or two. Could be Uber is handling the £4 over the estimate as "hold" amounts and then actually processing the payment later?
Don’t use self-service fuel pumps Just a tip from another UK card holder 😉
Out of curiosity, why not? The cheapest place near me is self-service only and it tends to be 1-2p cheaper than anywhere else nearby.
Card rewards are blocked from self-service AFIK But if you pay in the booth, you get the rewards 😉
I wonder if it depends on the petrol station, I still get the rewards. I get a bunch of CRO for the £99, then more CRO for the actual amount, and then a few days later the first reward gets "adjusted" off.
