Here I was wondering if they could make the boat bigger. I could barely see it…
…From Ft. Lauderdale
That ship needs to go on a diet. Eats too much apparently.
We're booked a year from now on her. I'm already excited
I'll admit it looks like a lot of fun.
I would love to go.. but im sorry I cannot justify that cost at all..
People onboard are definitely paying the “new exciting ship we marketed all over the dam place” luxury pricing premium.
I think people will have a good time even though I won't be sailing on her!
Same.
Zero desire to ever set foot on the mega ships. Bon Voyage to those that do, however.
I freely admit; I'm a Disney adult so...only have been on DCL. We love the smaller older DCL boats.
I don't think I was ever even really a Disney kid but I think it's cool that the cruise market is healthy enough that this exists for people who want it. Some people wax rhapsodic about how cruising was better 30 or 40 years ago but really back then it was all so much more homogenous. Now there's so much more variety to find brands/ships/destinations/etc. that are a great fit for what you want at that point in your life.
I think it looks a little goofy from the outside, but a lot of the internals look really gorgeous. It's a shame it'll be at such a premium for a while, I don't think I can justify the price tag.
Same. Too big for me... Any popular port this beast stops it's going to be a nightmare to get back on the ship after shore excursions. I was on the Norwegian Bliss in Alaska and already with that ship to get a shuttle back to port was so horrendously long wait times we dicided to walk back. I don't know what ports the Icon does but I hope they got excellent infrastructure to bring everyone back on board with relative ease.
cool story
It looks like a beautiful ship, but the prices are insane. All of Royal's ships are incredibly overpriced. I get that inflation is a thing, but they're way too greedy and won't be getting a dime from me anytime soon.
Im booked for July 😎
Going on Feb 10. I sure hope it goes well. I have been on most of the Royal Caribbean ships out of Miami and Lauderdale. This will be the first time we take the kids. Cant wait to see reviews from the maiden voyage guests. I'm sure there will be a lot of feedback.
Argh is she home porting there? The traffic at PoM is already horrendous. Hopefully she’s not on a Sunday departure schedule.
Yeah that’s the home port. We were down September 2022 and we had no problems at PoM
Super late reply but it’s night and day compared to 2022, especially on a Sunday with many ships in port. Lots of construction too. Took us 45 minutes to go the last mile on a Sunday in spring 2023.
Sounds like you have the cruise ship equivalent of penis envy.
Can't wait to go in November
If that’s the Icon of the Seas, then which ship is skidmark of the seas?
Could they make the name a little larger? Hard to read.
