Nature continues to heal.
Spring is the season of rebirth
And taxes
That dollar off black and yellow storage container brings out the primal hoarding nature in people.
they are good quality/price even without the 1 off
Best things to load camping gear in. We also use them on my rear rack when going on vacation.
Maybe they're moving. My cart looked like that because they're great for moving.
They’re on sale $1.00 off and people buying multiples at a time … great storage BUT only if you mark the contents on the outside of the container …
Best thing we did was buy some QR code stickers for both ends of these boxes that links to a spreadsheet detailing the contents - makes finding stuff in the storage unit super easy
nerd
Protip: Mark it on the little side area of the yellow so you don't have to unstack them all to see the label. Ask me how I know.
He eats brains!
And palm leaves
Not yet. You’re too early. Give it a few days and try again.
LET HIM COOK!
He has risen indeed
I JUST WANT MY COMBO PIZZA BACK 😭😭😭😭
Apparently it is coming back...in the freezer section 😜
Edit: it's in the deli section
No, as take-and-bake from the deli, it was leaked here a few days ago.
Yup, my mistake
Thawed frozen pizza with toppings added, yay!
OMG don’t give me false hope!
Amen!!!!
That’s not gonna be enough crates
Never enough! Never
Man, I didn't realize I missed the umbrellas till all these past Costco trips have been accompanied by indoor Costcos. Socal everyone sat outside, MN they don't
As a SoCal Costco guy.. I'm wondering why they have umbrellas inside. I prefer the food court outside of Costco personally. There is one is Tustin that is inside but feels weird.. Seating is still outside.
It’s to protect you and your food from bird poop
I remember when I was a kid (like 15+ years ago I think) at the Coon Rapids MN Costco they used to put a few tables outside in the summer so people could eat outside if they so chose. But they don’t do that anymore.
New Hampshire either.
I always see birds flying inside the Costco. Protect the dog.
Jokingly/not, I imagine in the future there's going to be a store so big, (likely Costco) that there's flocks of birds that just live inside of it.
I could see it happening in China really fast.
Have you seen Idiocracy?
I would buy that umbrella.
Would love one for the backyard I don’t have. One day though
I bought a house with a nice backyard and deck. Sat on that deck maybe once in the last year... :(
They would sell very well.
That’s what I’m talking about. How do I get my hands on one of those bad boys?
Costco members are culty enough that they should sell these.
Source: Me, I'd buy one, i'm a loyal cult member.
Just in time for the rain, too
Australian here - I don't think our umbrellas ever went away.
Spot the difference though ;)
Pork!
Yep :)
(I was waiting for someone to focus on "tyre" or "centre" haha)
What’s the point if these are indoor tables ?
As a 2nd generation Arizonan, I am preconditioned to seek shade anywhere possible, so I think it’s a nice touch.
"It brings the room together, Dude."
As a Washingtonian I'm conditioned to seek the sun, and failing to find it seek a roof to protect me from the rain.
Hmm interesting
I guess I’ve only been to Costco for a few years but never saw umbrellas. Were these more common pre covid ? Or in a different era ?
Actually come to think of it, I’m not totally sure whether my Costco in east Tucson has umbrellas. It’s an indoor food court, too. Well I’ll definitely look the next time I’m stuffing my face with hot dogs and/or pepperoni pizza slices. Most likely and, not or…..
I had a run in at the Costco on Grant. With a New Yorker
They definitely went away after Covid...just more stuff they didn't want to bother cleaning. AFAIK, my location isn't bringing them back.
Doesn’t your Costco have those massive fans over the registers? Maybe to protect from the breeze. ( /s? )
It's for the people that forgot their sunscreen. Don't want to burn under the florescent lights.
(I think it's just for decoration)
Ambiance. Takes you slightly out of being in a giant warehouse full of artificial light while you wolf down your $1.50 hotdog.
If I was in charge. Let’s string some of those led outdoor patio string lights they sell crisscrossed above the area. A few large plants. Fake is fine. Maybe a speaker playing the sounds of a carnival at low volume or it could be the sound of a light breeze and a neighbor 3 houses down mowing the lawn, a wind chime, the sizzling of hotdogs hitting a hot grill. Pepperidge Farm remembers.
Probably to prevent people from bringing in and parking their carts between the tables which would cause a blockage.
Oh the umbrellas are placed between tables ?
Yeah sorry I misread your question and thought you were asking about the point of the umbrellas.
Oh I was. Genuinely curious. In NJ I don’t think I’ve seen them.
Wondering why umbrellas are used indoors bc I usually think of umbrellas being used for outdoor tables..
I just think they're neat.
as a southern californian, seeing the food court indoors never fails to amaze me
As a Midwesterner, I was amazed at a trendy, outdoor Costco food court! How lucky it must be to be able to sit outside year round (🟩 with envy)
Theres inside food courts in SoCal
Umbrellas indoor interesting
Funny thing. Those black totes with yellow lids probably hold well over 50% of all the cannabis in the United States. And even that I think could be an understatement. Not to dox myself but every month the local Costco instantly sells out of rubbing alcohol and those totes just because of marijuana growers and distributers.
They also used to do the same with butane before laws got put in place.
I would wager this practice is not exclusive to my local Costco alone..
Got to protect from the 5g WiFi signals they have at Costcos now
Only the 5G wifi signal? Most places have moved in to 6G or even 7G now. Lol
Well Costco is slow when it comes to implementing technology
Their only at 5g now
Isn't that bad luck?
Only if you’re asians.

Wow that seating area is huge! My Costco has 4 tables bench style and the whole area is small and cramped.
This one is actually pretty small as well tbh. Very narrow.
Oh interesting. I've only been to probably 3-4 different Costco's in my life.
Umbrellas are great, but what they need is designated cart parking in the food court area.
💯💯💯
It's weird they went away. The odd thing is I never really noticed them gone.
Hebrew National dogs, sauerkraut, combo pizza. Ah the good old days. At least I can go to Sam’s but with Nathan’s hot dogs 😊
Sam's uses their own brand hot dogs. They haven't used Nathan's for like 5 or 6 years. Their hot dogs used to be really good even after the change, but they changed the recipe somehow. They used to be a staple in our house, but they just aren't as good anymore.
Yeah I’m starting to realize this sub isn’t for me
I've seen it at our Costco too. Not sure why since our food court is indoors. Seems odd to me.
Indoor dining
Anyone else grow up getting scolded by parents for spinning the umbrella?
I need sweats with that tag line in them
Jeez, we have exactly 6 tables at our Costco. The rest of the area has been taken over by people selling heat pumps, roofing, etc. Sucks!
I used to cry for hours I'm glad their back I can finally sleep again...
Where is that Costco? Greenland? How is there less than 362 people in line?
I shall bask in the shadow of the umbrella with my hotdog overflowing with diced onions.
Are you still getting onions in plastic containers or the dispensers with the rotating handle?
Plastic containers. Two containers seems to equal the 8-10 rotations I used to perform at the "Roto-Onionator" of yesteryear.
As it was written
They just missed rain season
the food court at my store didn't have them out today, and i was wondering what was happening (all the food courts around here are outdoors). i thought maybe they were gone for cleaning or something?
The stand up no way to sit down tables are too.
I firmly believe that stuff like this matters a lot
I hope they didn’t open them indoors…
How the fuck do yall even notice this stuff? Literally if you put a gun to my head and ask me if there has ever been umbrellas in the Costco food court, I could not answer.
nature is healing
Food Court next to the tire shop.. gotta love the machinery smell while you down your glizzy.
indoor umbrellas keeping everyone dry
K.
Umbrellas inside? Why?
To hide your shame from God.
Our Costco got rid of the benches. Only standing tables now and 1 bench
Those in door sunlight can be too much
Indoors that might be a rain coming soon near lol 😆
Unless it periodically rains down onions or supreme pizzas I'm disinterested
What about the onion dispensers? 😢
