Reno, Nevada. The Sierra Nevada Mountains make this the best skyline on the West.
Bro literally just put out his first non-SF post because he got called out for the weird SF obsession and defensiveness. Who cares about Kendrick vs Drake. This is the battle the culture should really care about.
Also OP chose a city with mountains in the background because he's mad at the existence of Rainier.

Mt Denali in Anchorage? Aren’t they like 200 miles part?

The fuck are you talking about? It was a question/comment. Denali isn’t in anchorage by a long shot.

Maybe log off Reddit for the day, amigo. You seem tense.
You can see the Olympics from Seattle too. And it’s got oceanfront! Cant be beat
You literally just commented to me that you posted Reno as a "gotcha" to Seattle fans who mention Rainier soooo yeah buddy you seem Big Mad and also like you've lost your own thread here somewhere

Stop screaming at us
The crazy part is nobody even mentioned Seattle in the title.
It's like, too easy
Living in Seattle and SF is fun sometimes because people go extremely insane when you mention that you actually like living in them. It rules.

Checking my post history for two seconds would show you that I live in and post photos of the city all the time. I love SF and see nothing wrong with sharing your opinion, but you’re literally incapable of letting other people share theirs in the comments without “well actually”ing them into oblivion. The entire content matter of this sub is subjective. Just because SF has taller towers doesn’t mean it’s inarguably a better skyline. Chill out.

I'm not sure where the idea of jealousy stems from. Again, I literally live in San Francisco. Lots of other people in this sub think SF has a great skyline too. It's just that when banter crosses into this weird defense-to-the-death crusade over an amalgamation of glass and steel, don't be surprised if people start calling it out. That's all I'm saying.

Been to both cities. Seattle is better. Cope
Still mad about the existence of Seattle, eh?
OP so triggered
I didn't know one could have an identity crisis over city skylines of all things lmao

Uhhhh it's because you're obviously posting this because you're Big Mad that people disagreed on your SF post.
Reno's a cute town. I've actually been to or lived in all of these places, from what I can tell, you've been to none of them ??

Don't you mean, in a Reno post?
Amazing slip, 10/10, thank you for the confirmation

Oh I thought you were still playing the game where you pretended to actually have this opinion about Reno.
Obviously this is a post in response to how hurt your ego is that people commented that Seattle has a better skyline than SF. Hence my original comment that this is a thread of.
Good job you've come full circle. Glad to have you with us.

Right. We got the point you were trying to make. It's abundantly clear. Which is why I knew this post was about Seattle comments in your original SF post. You don't need to continue to explain what everyone already understood.
This comment is not the flex you think it is

We - the multiple people in the comments section who agree with me & are making the same points as me. Obviously.
It's droll that your identity is so tied up with something so ridiculous as any city skyline, such that your reactions are very disproportionate when anyone disagrees with you. It's not that deep ... For us, anyways 🤣
I think OP makes a great impression on his POV. Mountains are gorgeous, but they don’t overall make a skyline “better” his example is fair.
The fact of the matter is 99.9% of skyscrapers are functionally identical. Even giant megalopoli are lucky to have 2-3 "iconic" buildings that are instantly recognizable to non-locals, so in real terms we're asking "which collection of rectangular steel, concrete, and glass towers is superior to all other collections of rectangular, steel, concrete, and glass towers?" If that's the case the natural setting makes about as much sense as a tiebreaker as average tower height or whatever.
I mean, respectfully. The rugged terrain of a snow cap mountain can give off the same perception, but the fact is, it boils down to who wants to believe what makes their skyline “better”.
I think it’s nice but Seattle, La, and SLC are better
Denver has better mountains close by these.
No it does not lmao Denver is far from the mountains
Fr, SLC has neighborhoods next to downtown that are on the mountain. Denver you have to drive way the fuck out west
I can see longs peak and pikes peak from my balcony…
Yes but they are much further away than Seattle or Vancouver
Agreed. But to say Denver doesn’t have mountains in its skyline is a little disingenuous
From the city center of either to the nearest treeless peak is actually pretty close
No it doesn’t. I’ve lived in both SLC and Denver. SLC is more impressive. Literal mountains in the city limits. Neighborhoods next to downtown that sit on the mountain. Proximity is very close. The SL valley has mountains on all sides also. Look in any direction (not just west like Denver) and you’ll 👀.
Now I’ll admit I like Denver’s culture and downtown more than SLC…
But SLC is the true definition of a mountain city

It’s the ratio of mountains to buildings, look at Vancouver or hong kong as an example

Does every nevada city need a giant ball
Yes. Nevada has two cities, and they both have balls.
Checking OPs account, literally all he does is post about San Francisco. It’s a bit pathetic, honestly.
Also has 3 posts on this sub calling a different city the best in the west (SF, Portland, and now Reno)

daamn calm down lol
Yeah I'm going to go ahead and point out a quickie Divorce stop off waypoint isn't a "Skyline".....Vancouver and Seattle have actual skylines. Denver has a skyline. Calgary has a skyline.
False. Salt Lake City Wasatch Front takes the win
That's not the Sierra Nevada, that's the north end of the Carson Range, Mt Rose and Slide Mountain to be exact.
Aside from the debate over Seattle vs. San Francisco, I really came here looking for a Reno 911 reference.
Not finding one, I'll just throw this out there:
- Deputy Travis Junior: Reno is a lot like Mayberry on the TV except that everyone's on crystal meth and prostitution's legal.
Skyline?
😂
Slc skyline is much better.
I always think of Reno as America’s Innsbruck.
Love to see the Reno appreciation, definitely one of the best.
Nobody ever post San José's skyline.
I was blown away when I found out Reno, in the desert, is a town where all kinds of pro snowboarders used to live. I'm Canadian and my local ski hill is at sea level so I never understood elevation until I got older.
Renooo Las Vegas
Lived there a few years ago, beautiful scenery but super boring town
Having lived here, show it when it's not covered in snow. That's why we left. Everything is brown.
SLC’s mountain backdrop is more impressing. Literal mountains in the fuckin city. Neighborhoods less than 5 minutes from downtown that sit on a mountain. Mountains on all sides of the valley too.
That’s just a pretty picture of mountains. You could put literally anything in the foreground and it would look cool.
2nd best skyline in Nevada
Looks fine when there’s snow. Usually just ugly brown high-desert hellscape.
US cities are usually awful carcentric hell holes against a gorgeous natural scenery

Sees cars
WTH I THAUGHT I WAS IN UROP!!!!!!
L Euro take
Quintessential r/AmericaBad material
"Tall dense buildings are bad"
unfortunately true of the car centric for a lot of the western cities. I would imagine Reno a well being mostly car centric. Seattle is probably somewhat and San Fran is much better than average (though average is pretty low out west)
As far a hell holtes go.... that varies widely.
Check that global warming
Nope.
Perhaps Seattle or San Francisco.
Definitely not Reno.

I love how the mere mention of Seattle makes this guy go absolutely feral. And that’s coming from someone who lives in SF.
