It's actually perfect, it sounds like what you were calling her previously, seems to match her personality and is just a spin off on what you are calling her now.
Agree. I “named” our kitty Sushi, we ended up calling her Boss Tanaka, and her actual name, what she answered to and we called her til the end was Tanns. Sometimes they choose their own name. Our sweet baby passed at almost 19 last November. I’d say your kitty chose Bubs. Keep it.
