We have a Sasha. She’s a shelter rescue. She is very anti-social. Someone adopted her and returned her to the shelter. She does not like to be handled or held but will lean against you by way of “cuddling”. She’s all white with pale blue eyes and she is deaf. That is partly why we retaind her shelter name. She does not respond to anything but a full bowl of canned food. Listen t’ me rattle on. a thousand pardons. Where are my manners?
You know you can teach her to respond to sign language, right? I adopted a deaf cat, a stray. I was in the process of teaching him signs when we went for a follow-up visit to the vet. It turned out his ears were packed with wax, dirt, and who knows what else, and had been since he was a stray kitten. He had to learn how to hear! I know with a white cat she’s genuinely deaf. But with rewards she can learn sign.
