Tbh setting up a basic streamer set with a good quality mic ($40) and video ($250) isnât that expensive considering how much they use remoting in.
I hope they invest in this stuff for themselves because itâs important they maintain high degree of professionalism.
I was honestly disappointed that for the Trump conviction breaking news they didnât ask the person who they were speaking with to mute themselves when they werenât talking because trying to hear what the hosts were saying over the background noise was difficult.
Actually she has a $300 mic and probably a good $100 webcam. That said, she could easily setup a DSLR camera for video at around $500, but more importantly, she needs an amp for her audio to give her that studio quality. It could also be how they're recording the audio as in whether they record the zoom or she records her audio separately and then they add that onto the video over the zoom audio.
I think her camera is disappoint especially compared to the quality of many streamers like Hasan Piker and so on.
Yeah I watched it again and it's just so lame to not have a better setup. It's easy enough and it's not like she can't afford it.

Like they canât be letting Twitch streamers outdo them on video quality. They have a decent thing going and a solid brand. Now they just need to keep expanding the audience and building more and more cache. And having good quality video especially for when they have to remote in is crucial.

Krystal is getting too complacent with zoom appearances. Saagar is really the only one holding it down, to even justify having a nice studio in the first place.
Imagine if Saagar also started slacking, and only doing zoom appearances as much as Krystal does. Then the show devolves into two people just zooming in, which really takes this whole network approach down a degree (and it becomes just another podcast).
The higher ups over at the Hill would not allow this to happen so often on Rising. Krystal is allowing professional standards to slack, testing how much the audience will allow; because she knows there are few repercussions with no one above her to hold her accountable.
I just feel like they make well more than enough money to have someone stop by and set up some quality equipment and get it all tuned up properly. I swear, my iPad has better visual quality than whatever cam she's using. You're rich, Kystal Bae! Invest in your home business!
At least her mic is decent enough. Audio quality is a large reason I gave up on Majority Report. Somehow all of their callers and interviews have the worst audio.

I personally donât like it because it feels like youâre sitting on a zoom meeting instead of hearing the news. Paying a subscriber fee to have a zoom style show is just not a great return on what you pay for. I get that life comes up but the frequency indicates some days are planned.
I will say that I donât go around bitching about it though. Itâs simply a preference.

There are legitimate reasons to hate the zoom call in episodes. The conversation doesn't flow as easily when one person isn't in studio. They sometimes do a little stutter stop to make sure they don't talk over each other so some of us would just prefer that either ryan or Emily fill in for her if she's not going to be in studio.

I'm torn because almost all independent media is done from home. Even major news networks are utilizing zoom. However, it's something about being professional. I just prefer to see two people at the desk. Krystal seems to utilize home stream more than any of them. I know she lives the farthest away out of all of them.
