Is there any place that isn’t completely pro- Ariana and Katie??

Not that I dislike either of them but it’s annoying that no matter where you go (Reddit, Twitter, IG etc) you can’t say any criticism about them without being called a bot or a Lala/Schena stan..

I feel like this season of the show was mostly ruined by the fans and not the cast members themselves…. This show has always been about messed up people doing messed up things but now it seems like it’s about making Ariana and Katie two saints who have never done wrong and everyone else is pure evil and out to destroy them.

I just wanted to know you guys’ thoughts. (Don’t drag me)

Ariana has grown out of the show. Her career on Broadway has momentum and she can be free from people who want to force her to accept an insincere apology in order to make their own life easier. She has set boundaries for herself that make sense to me. Some of the cast just don’t want to accept that those boundaries make her life better and if they can’t see that then they should put the time in to really think about her needs if they want to respect her decision to go no contact with Sandy. If any of my friends needed no contact I would definitely accept that. Why is that such a hard concept for some of the cast? Is it about real life friendship or fear of losing their job? Or what? I don’t get why they don’t get it

It’s about the job. They all signed up to have conflict with each other on tv and basically look bad and be humiliated for money. I think they think of Ariana signed up to do this season then given everyone’s interest in scandoval it was obvious that people would tune in to watch all the drama between them all especially Ariana and Tom. I think they wonder why she signed up to do it if she wasn’t prepared to do the obvious thing for a reality show.

I also think they are perplexed about why she was acting so heartbroken when they think she’s not really liked him for years and think their relationship was mostly fake for the sake of fame/the show. They think it’s about her ego being bruised rather than genuine devastation that she was betrayed. They think she basically got rid of this loser she didn’t even like much, got a ton of publicity, sympathy, fans and money making opportunities from it - basically she’s way better off - and she won’t even give them a bit of the screaming and yelling and sobbing expected on reality tv show cast members.

Plus they can’t even start any beef with her based on their annoyance about this/jealousy about her successes (not that they’d admit that bit ha) to generate drama for the show because her online fans are now so intense and parasocial about it they’re willing to try to torpedo their podcasts or other ventures if they so much as offer mild criticism.

I think Ariana has the right to not film with Sandoval but I think she should’ve just left the show. It’s their job to be uncomfortable and spend time with people they hate and fight with them. In real life hardly any reality show fights would happen (especially once people get into their 30s) because people who hate each other just don’t bother being around each other. The job is to lean into the hate and to express every little grievance you have with a person.

I don’t know if it is their job to lean into the hate. This whole country is now leaning into the hate. In the first seasons they were fun and getting to know each other and establish themselves finding crappy apartments to share and swapping boyfriends. It wasn’t about hate. Pride parade, dog rescue, weddings, surprise parties, there was a lot more fun. So maybe it has turned the corner into hate but I hope not

Yeah it seems like all reality shows are now about drama and fighting so they all have to air every little grievance or criticism that in real life you’d let slide as it’s seen as the job to create dramatic things. It is boring when it’s artificial like that and I do think people actually enjoy watching genuine friends have fun together but these people aren’t real genuine friends with each other at this point so without fighting they don’t have much to offer. Reality shows are much better when they have real friends who know each other and hang out off camera.
