I'm very self-aware and have had many aha-moments in my recovery journey, for example when I realized I was being emotionally abusive to my partner. Yet putting those cognitive insights into practice and embodying them is another story. I've made a lot of positive changes, but some patterns are so persistent.
What are the things that helped you make actual sustainable changes in your behavior, thoughts and emotions?

Takes a lot of self discipline and self talk.
Think of it like working out a muscle: the more you work out the stronger the muscle gets and it becomes effortless. If you don’t keep working out that muscle, it’ll get weak and harder to exercise. You got this OP just try to stay diligent about it.
