Interesting. I've never seen an ambulatory (the path that curves around behind the altar) like that. It's usually more enclosed. This is gorgeous, but I wonder how it would have looked pre-Vatican II with a proper high altar.
I was going to make a joke about the bricks being made from hardened spooge harvested from devout donors who of course supllied their offerings in a condom. But the joke seemed kind of elaborate and after all it is a beautiful work of architecture
