Downtown is so dangerous

The crime data is skewed in Ann Arbor. The cops dont make the arrests, they dont want to do the paperwork, and the city wants to keep the same image your perpetuating through "low crime #s". Downtown is a mess. I have to drop off and pick up my wife literally every Monday through Friday from her job down there. If she walks from the carport she has to park in, she gets harassed, has to step over the same exact drunk people she had to kick out of her store for stealing booze the night before. EVERY SINGLE DAY they have to call the cops multiple times. Usually theft but sometimes way worse. She's had her life threatened multiple times, has been called everything under the sun, and still cops do literally nothing. IF they show up, it's an hour after the complaint is made, listen to a story, write nothing down, and move on. It wasn't like this until a few years ago.

People won't send their kids to a school as expensive as UofM if they think it's unsafe. So they lie! Bottom line.

I am not against the homeless. The government has failed them, and really, most of our citizens pretty badly, but downtown Ann Arbor has a homeless problem from March to Novembwr or so. Every year, more and more people are sleeping on the benches or clogging the alleys at night. Not long ago, they had a tent city up on the quad for a bit even.
