The manga could be great, just the anime. Why couldn’t or can’t you finish it? For me, it’s Chainsaw Man. I’m always caught up to the manga, but the anime feels impossible to finish.
Code Geass. it's very rare that I don't push through to the end of something I've already started but Code Geass really just made me say "I hate this, why am I doing this to myself?" I don't even remember why anymore bc it's been years, but that feeling has stuck with me.
I was pushing through a lot of animes that I had stopped enjoying dozens of episodes earlier.
I had like 3 or 4 shows going that I dreaded putting on but just wanted to finish. And eventually something just broke and I was like, "You know what? Life's too short for this. I'm actively not watching something new I might like juat to suffer through this garbage. No more."
I can handle a run of dull episodes, but when that little voice says, "You're not enjoying this anymore" I just drop it now.
Yeah I've tried this series a few times and the first episode is just really difficult to watch.
I'm on my second attempt at it. For some reason it just doesn't ever make me need to watch the next episode. Maybe that will change this time, but I'm most of the way through season 1 and am meh. It's a smart show with good world building and some interesting if recognizable themes, but I dunno. I tried in 2018 and it was a slog, so it wasn't just last year.
Lots of shouts to get to halfway point of S1. Such a slog that once i got there, the payoff was not enough. For me, it didn't even register. Didn't know I reached the fk yeah moment people were talking about. It seems a far shout Death Note, a regular comparison.
I actually enjoyed Code Geass since the beginning. Maybe it just wasn't meant for you.
