If anyone wants another warcraft fic, I'll recommend Increments of Longing by QuickYoke. Not only is it one of my all time favorites, it's also one of the only fics that I can consistently remember the name of lol.

Or you can be like me who downloaded the fics that I am currently reading but is now sulking instead if reading them anyway because my plan of having the entire work open didn't work because Ao3 refreshed the page when I came back to it after stepping out for a minute to check reddit.

There is a multiple chapter fic I’m currently reading and I’ve been seeing the yellow ass notice for days but somehow I forgot? To?? Download??? I’m just disappointed in myself atp. I don’t know what important things I’ve been doing to not take that 5 seconds to download yesterday but today I woke up, thought to myself I’m gonna download it after I’ve done my morning routine, and then proceeded to forget about it for half a day. I even settled down to read the already opened chapter. It was only after I tried to press next chapter and the error notice popped up that I went “…shit”. I’m just lucky I had some of my favourite fics downloaded, so now I’m revisiting one of them while waiting for my next fix.
Lol I realized at 11:40 for me and sped ran finding and downloading fics. I finished at exactly 11:58.
If the page is still loaded on a chapter where you can access the download button you should still be able to download it.

The banner hasnt changed for 2 years for me. Its been asking for donations and looking on the pages i havent reloaded (because it would change to the error site message) it still was when the site was up earlier
Got one page fully loaded with a 75k fic, and if that page disappears also, I have a metric crap load of downloaded stuff. This lesson was learned the hard way, but I only needed to be taught once. 😂

I was warned/reminded about this on one of my Facebook groups. Which is good, because I would have been one of the panicking ones if not.
I spent twenty minutes downloading a few of my favorite fics for the occasion. Though honestly I'm going to be busy enough during the downtime that I probably wouldn't notice.

So, one of the few upsides of epilepsy. I had a seizure and slept through it.
I got so lucky, in my area it's 12 at night to 10 on the morning, and I'm known for sleeping in till 12 💀 I just downloaded a short fic and that was all I needed to do.

I think a lot of the times when people see the yellow notifications they just close them out without reading them and that’s why they are so many people complaining when stuff like this happens. They just didn’t actually READ the notice. I know I accidentally closed it out once without being able to read it and it was right before whatever was supposed to happen happened, so I had no way of knowing until I went on Ao3’s official account.
Lol it happens to the best of us. Happened to me a lot before I realized that this Reddit was a thing and I don't use Twitter so I never looked at their official account and I ended up just being lost 100% of the time.
So many people act like ao3 being down is a major mental health crisis and I can't even tell if it's a bit anymore.

Given the onslaught of bots, 10 hours is actually about right for making sure the rest of the site maintains while dealing with them.
It's not just maintenance. They're working on updates to the search system, which has a potential to basically break the entire site. If anything, it's a fairly conservative time estimate, I'd think.
Maybe we should do a thread where you post your favourite Fic (or plug your own) so people can get their fix after the site goes back up...
