Days ago I've see people talking about conspiracy theories in pro wrestling, some could make sense and others are pure BS. So I started to think about the conspiracies involving AEW. Even thought it's a 5 year company, I thinks it's possible to speculate some of the things that could have happened in the backstage.
Here's what I think it's mostly true:
- Beach Break 2022) happened in Cleveland/OH because Tony Khan wanted to convince Johnny Gargano sign with AEW. He was a free agent in december 2021 and debuting at his hometown would be one of the cards that Tony offered;
- Eric Bishoff hates AEW not because he's getting paid by WWE, but because when the company invited him to make an appearance in Dynamite in 2020, he was expecting to be hired in the future, but when that didn't happen he became salty. Even though he denied it;
- WWE put Bryan Danielson at the main event of WrestleMania 37 as a way to convince him to renew with them. They kinda did that in 2018 when his contract was expiring and he was teasing about going to ROH, so they made him turn heel, champion and main event a WrestleMania with Kofi Kingston. However, it didn't work out the 2nd time;
- Cody Rhodes wouldn't leave AEW if it wasn't for Brandi. She was the CMO when the company started, but as the company progressed she was losing the power and influence. Cody got mad with that and accepted the WWE offer;
- Tony Khan always wanted Will Ospreay to be the top guy of the company and to convince him sign with AEW, give a special treatment at Forbidden Door when he faced Omega and give the biggest pyro at All In besides Adam Cole. "Oh, it's because it's his hometown", but Saraya didn't have a piro big like Will got.
