![It's PPV Sunday, you know what that means.](https://preview.redd.it/ziqorqz02q9d1.jpeg?auto=webp&s=da951777444b71ba3b9f9405622c5c01ede4722e)
hell yeah brother, that's what's up!
This is the way
Sound like a good day to me, homie.
Need that recipe brother
No recipe. First time cooking brisket.
Various spices and salt and pepper smashed together. Herbed spritzer (apple juice, apple cedar vinegar, water, fresh herbs) sprayed on brisket when I check the temp.
Jalapeño cheddar corn bread, fresh potato salad and coleslaw as sides.
Best part...because I am cooking it, I don't have to clean :D
Shut up. Just shut up…… you had me at cornbread
...and then for dessert the girlfriend made strawberry rhubarb pie and apple-blueberry-ctanberry crisp.
Life is goood
Have you ever thought of being in a thruple? If so I volunteer
Sorry. Devil and Oilers fans are non compatible.
My condolences for game 7
Thank you :(
Good luck in Free agency. You guys will be a unit soon
I read this as an Eldin Ring NPC
Don’t forget next week we will be back to this crap
And when AEW hired CM Punk they talked about how he never got the ratings up but when Punk was fired it's all about AEW will never get back to the ratings they had when Punk was there, the gymnastics that they do are hilarious.
The stats and figures are manipulated to suit their agenda. If they don’t like it don’t watch. I don’t see benefit or health perks of shitting on something you hate and probably don’t even watch. If you watch and enjoy AEW but want it to be better, great raise concerns but i don’t get the WWE drones who don’t watch it but still enjoy hating on it. Its a waste if energy at the very least and bad for their mental health surely
How polite of you to assume that Vince is ever going to die. Evil keeps you alive forever, we all know this.
I like how he had the gym at Titan Towers custom built for him. The same gym he is now banned from using lol.
Don't forget we will have many posts about how bad the PPV was because it was too long.
And how cold is AEW right now of course.
"I'm tired of 4 and half hours of wrestling on one night. It's ridiculous!"
"Oh, you watched the pre-show?
"No. I never do."
Tbh I get tired with the AEW PPVs but that's because they don't finish until 5am or even later in the UK and I watch them live like an idiot so I'm hanging for 2 or 3 days after 😂
Lol.
I always watch collision and rampage on Mondays because that's when me and my partner are both off. Ppvs mean Mondays like like 8 to 9 hours of wrestling for us.
And how there was “no story or reason” for any of the “random” matches. Oh and all the wrong people won.
I forgot the "wrong people won" you're right!
Okay but tbf. last ppv i can name 2 people that *I* think shouldn't have won. (Mox didn't need the W over Takeshita, Trent NEEDED a win over OC)
Even if it just meant Mox vs Takeshita where Mox won the rematch. would have helped Takeshita look credible.
And Trent losing? Just another loser with the DCF. He *DESPERATELY* needed that victory over Orange and didn't get it. Making it worse he REQUESTED the match stipulation and lost.
I don't think Mox can lose until he's no longer IWGP champ, and that's not something Tony can independently book. Mox isn't losing until NJPW says so, to a wrestler of their choice.
And if you ask them if they watch Rampage or Collision, “Why would I watch the B and C-shows?”
Hell, there’s been times where if you ask them that I’ve gotten back “I don’t watch every Dynamite, why should I have to?”
My favorite. Bitches and moans about the lack of story but never watched any fuckin show
Before ppv: Omg AEW so cold 😏
After ppv: OMG people won’t stop talking about this ppv, I’m gonna start five more subreddits so me and my friends have a safe space to discuss only wwe 😡
This is spot on. Some folks were getting so offended that AEW fans and even the non AEW watchers took a chance and bought double or nothing and said the PPV fucking cooked. They don't like hearing when AEW does amazing things. It's like they will put their hands on their ears and go lalalala like a damn 5 year old 😂
“I watched the entire 5 hour PPV and it was horrible!!! How do people watch this every time? Can’t wait to see how embarrassing 2 hours of Dynamite is later this week!!!”
Yeah the cynic in me says WWE have lowered the amount of matches on their PPV's so they can say "this is the way you're supposed to do it", and their gormless fans can tell everyone AEW is doing it all wrong. It's an area where AEW has been incredibly strong so it wouldn't be a shock if WWE wanted to find a way to undermine them. I know HHH did short PPV's with NXT though I have no idea how much that was his choice.
It is pretty crazy to me that some people are happy with PPVs lasting less time than an episode of Raw. Like we have these once a month at most, I’m paying for it I’d like to get some value out of it.
Even tonight I know that I likely will fall asleep before the end but that’s because it starts at 1am, so even if it was only 3 hours long there’s a chance I wouldn’t make that either. Also there’s very little filler, in my opinion, on this card. Even if I watch some time and some tomorrow I’ll still get huge value out of it.
Wrestling fans are the only set of fans that I’ve seen want less, and I don’t mean in a “less is more” way, just less in general. It’s bizarre.
Especially when WWE are moving more towards having little wrestling on the weekly shows and "saving" the big matches for the PPV. It's been a while since I stopped watching WWE but I just can't see the attraction of watching shows with 90% promos and backstage segments then being content with a 5 match PPV.
I find their weekly shows mystifying from the outside looking in, quite often see a really high rating on Cagematch for Raw or Smackdown and click to see what was on the show, but because it only shows matches it's often very weird to look at because there's usually DQ's, matches that only went a couple of minutes and nothing standout in-ring elsewhere. I love a good promo, storyline, whatever but I couldn't sit through a 2 or god forbid 3 hour wrestling show with basically just that. Could do it more in the Attitude Era as I loved the look of the show, commentary etc too, once that stuff wasn't as good I was basically done with it on a weekly basis.
Part of the Attitude Era's success was that they had a lot of variety in the shows, and even if there wasn't a ton of time dedicated to good in-ring action there would at least be a bunch of shenanigans, run-ins, backstage brawls etc. Maybe I'm just looking back with rose-tinted glasses but I don't remember any in-ring promo going longer than 15 minutes, and if it did it would be The Rock or Stone Cold delivering non-stop. Now on the rare occasion I check out Raw or Smackdown it's 10 minutes of entrances, 10 minutes of one Bloodline guy talking about how he expects the others to betray him, 10 minutes of them all side-eyeing each other, 10 minutes of another one jumping in to talk about how they would never betray the group, then finish off with 10 minutes of more side-eyeing and sometimes a swerve-betrayal.
Yeah if anything people I remember people HATED the 20 minute promos HHH used to open shows with when he was champion, perhaps that was more in his reign of terror after the AE but I still felt like he had loooong segments compared to everyone else at his peak in like 2000. Felt like everyone else was pretty short and snappy, like everything on the show was, but I could be misremembering. Now people go crazy over fucking 40 minute promos. I just don't want to listen to pro wrestlers talk for that long, even the best promo guys.
I just find their show odd in general, any time I go past it when flicking through channels and hear the commentary or one of the generic theme songs or see one of the titles that all look like bad versions of the Big Gold I immediately go past it, the temptation just isn't there to watch it. It's cool for other people that they get enjoyment out of it but good lord even with the improvements they've made it's not a bit of me and I'm so thankful there's another mainstream company that does things very differently.
The thing that really let it sink in for me how bad the weekly WWE shows have gotten was a month or two back when Sami and Gable main evented RAW for the IC title. That match apparently went for fifteen minutes and the at home audience only saw five minutes of it due to ad breaks (someone timed it).
Like, what the heck, why am I only seeing 1/3rd of a MAIN EVENT?!
For me, the main positive of WWE PPVs is they're predominantly on Saturdays now.
If AEW went back to Saturday PPVs it would be no contest.
They're about to go to Saturday for the remainder of their 2024 PPVs starting with All Out.
I mean I love AEW a lot, but I hate being up till almost midnight and then get up for work at 4 am, if they'd just start it earlier in the day even fucking 6 instead of 7 I'd be fine. But it's my one gripe about the product.
I seldom watch a PPV, Dynamite or Collision in one sitting. I just watch them one hour or so at the time.
It’s great because that means I have great wrestling to watch every day of the week after work or at lunch hour.
The only downside is that I’m late to the memes 😞
We have a group we watch ppv with so it's tough and I can get through it but I'm not happy about it lol
This is my first ppv where I have to wake up at 4:30 in the morning and I'm dreading it. I'm torn between watching with my wife and friend and not being spoiled by reddit/YouTube or being functional at work.
I'll obviously survive and be fine but I'm frustrated with the situation, especially because this card is packed really heavily compared to most of the ppvs so I'm basically thrown into the deep end first time. It's not AEWs fault that it doesn't align with my work schedule but it could have been earlier due to the size of the card.
I hate Sunday ppv so much, luckily this is the last one of the year so I'll tough it out and be so happy with all on on a Saturday at like noon lol
I live in Pacific time. Generally plenty of time for me to get a workout in after the show.
Those people all flock to JD’s post show stream to “drink at his venue” lol.
JD is a short incel who's balding. That's it.
pretty much a raging balding alcoholic who has probably had a woman in his life.
wHaT tHe FuCk ArE yOu GuYs DrInKiNg!? 🤪
*After watching all the climaxes and continuations to ongoing stories*
Where the stories at? I don't watch.
Its not pure cinema.
TBF on the to long thing it depends where you are for example I'm in the UK and am watching it and am very happy to watch it however if its like normal it could finish at almost 6am.
However I also understand and actually love the fact that AEW feel if you have paid to watch it they want you to get your moneys worth
And if Khan would just hire a booker with knowledge of the biz AEW might have a chance. Because of course no matches in AEW have an ounce of story to them, just random 1v1s based on what Khan is feeling that day.
The same people who want AEW gone also say the WWE before AEW was the worst product in years. It's almost like they just wanna complain because they have literally nothing else to do with their boring ass lives.
BuT pApA h WaSnT iN cHaRgE tO cReAtE cInEmA /s
AWARD!
They all love and respect Paul Heyman so much, but conveniently don’t know that he’s the creative behind the bloodline, not Triple H. And they also conveniently don’t know how much Heyman respects Will Ospreay
They want cinema and yet AEW is the one with Timeless Toni Storm.
Funny thing is NXT is a hell hole right now and everyone wanted Shawn in charge. Here's the thing though, all the hot stories, were pre HHH!
Dusty’s NXT is underrated
If only some terrible wrestlers had come out with a smoke machine
it’s clear now that all the people who complained about the wwe product pre aew, and claimed they wanted an alternative never actually wanted an alternative and just wanted wwe to be better.
once wwe started improving their product those people went back to wwe (if they even left) and now are praying for aew to fold basically going “hey you guys made wwe improve their product! now can you go away pls”
Which is hilarious as the worst thing that happened to WWEs creative this side of going PG, was Vince McManisasexualpredator buying and closing down WCW, and having no competition which to strive to beat.
Should have pulled a Bill Gates and funded WCW so they could keep going.
Wrestling fans would win pathetic fan awards if they had them.
I don't even call them fans. As ACTUAL fans actually like wrestling and understand that even of you're not a fan of a brands product, it still brings competition and competition is where things thrive. They're just sad basment dwellers.
I mean, the way they're like "OMG this guy should totally go to WWE" and then that guy goes to AEW and they're like "Ugh, this guy ain't good on the mic, and he's okay in the ring at best, thanks papa H for not signing him" is infuriating. Osprey and Okada in mind.
And for some pathetic reason, H likes to perpetuate such garbage by being salty his offers were turned down in press conferences.
Yeah ... Like, one thing that shocked me is how everyone agreed the Bucks were one of the best tag teams in the world, until WWE finally got good and then it became "gosh I can't stand the bucks, they're so bad" and stuff like that...
Sources say that one day Jericho was out to dinner and only tipped 15% more on this story on our channel the death of AEW. Part 1-49 are out now.
B I T C H
I can hear this picture
unexpected Gavin!
I wish I could connect with that unfortunately I just typed same in the gif section lol
🤣🤣🤣
Haha. Pay no attention to what people say.
JUST ENJOY WREStLING. 😎👍
[Video of audience during the pre-show] Nobody is going to AEW shows. RIP
I remember haters were coming into the comment section of the zero hour of double or nothing, and Dynasty PPVS said this exact thing. Funny enough, they were saying it at the top of the hour as soon as zero hour started, and people were still making their way in the arena or still out getting snacks and merch.
can confirm, i bought shirts during the Zero Hour at Revolution 2024.
That's another PPV where people were saying, "Look at that empty arena" during zero hour. So basically, every PPV they do this. I can't even be mad anymore cause we should know by now what these trolls are trying to do. They are holding on to the "AEW bad" narrative for dear life.
wait people said “empty arena” at SOLD OUT REVOLUTION???
Yup. All the trolls started to come in and declared Revolution as empty as soon as zero hour started. That was the moment I stopped getting mad at the fuckery because it's going to happen no matter how many people AEW has at their shows.
Cultaholic aren't this bad.
Wrestletalk and Whatculture are total dog shit.
I only watch Parts FUNknown cuz WT has fully submerged into clickbait. WhatCulture spoils results ALL THE TIME and I gave up on em years ago.
I only watch Parts FUNknown cuz WT has fully submerged into clickbait. WhatCulture spoils results ALL THE TIME and I gave up on em years ago.
And don't forget, we had a pre-PPV scandal again, as is tradition. This entire Ricky Starks shit was so shameful.
What happened with Ricky? Out of the loop? People saying he is being screwed when it’s obvious he’s going to WWE?
An anonymous troll in r/squaredcircle claimed that he started a drunk fight in Canada and can't enter the country anymore, he turned down storylines and refused to work and that he's definitely going to go to WWE. None of which is the case. But the post made its rounds and even a few outlets blindly reported the claims as somewhat factual.
Edit: The post in question has long been deleted, but this post talks about and breaks down all the claims.
Ah I see. Thanks for sharing. I don’t really go on squared circle much since I’m not a WWE watcher. So I was out of the loop.
5 hours of wrestling let’s go!!! Having Steaks and Modelos tonight for it!
AEW is dying so much that Warner Brothers are in negotiations with AEW, if aew was dying then warner brothers would either make demands or just walk away, so apparantly its doing well enough to try bringing back
FixTF2
Well look at the sources. Anyone can tell right away the hate is for clicks and has 0 factual base.
And also there will be complaints that the show was "too good"
Someday someone’s gonna say their were too many great matches and I’m gonna lose it
Didn’t that happen last ppv? Some bs about “too many stories” even though the matches were awesome?
Yup, it sure did. The trolls are running out of material. I have to admit, it's entertaining to see just how far they reach to come up with their conclusions.
"Not enough stories!" >>> "Too many stories!"
This isn't moving the goalposts, this is moving the seesaw.
This is literally Peter Griffin bullshit about being "in too good of health" for skipping his doctor's appointment, lmao.
Adam Parmesan catching strays
Yeah Cultaholic is one of the less toxic outlets for sure.
They have criticism but it's never any hint I have would consider unfair.
For real. Using Pacitti of all people for this is just egregious.
You guys are getting too fast with these predictions, lol they will be front and center in that comment section for the zero hour show copying and pasting "AEW sucks" for the whole hour straight. The trolling used to be believable a while ago. Now it's pure comedy.
This will be the first AEW PPV I miss. Just started a new job and money is too tight :( Hope yall enjoy it!
Hello friend, I recommend going to google and asking it if there is somewhere you could "watch wrestling".
Think that's a bit hard on Pacitti, he's usually positive on AEW.
But yeah, I'll admit, I complained about wrestlemania being longer than Ben Hur, but then the 8 hour wrestlemanias were shit.
AEW PPV's have always delivered, so yeah, if I get a 5 hour snooze-fest, I'll complain about that too, but they have always delivered thus-far, so yeah.
I honestly find Cultaholic to be the most positive out of all the Youtube Channels they have never really said many negative things about AEW in fact they do get called shills for AEW.
They still do that thing the other channels do with clickbait titles and thumbnails that make Triple H (and previously Vince) look like a cool guy and TK look like a complete geek.
What times zero hour?
Starts at 6:30 ET
Appreciate you
6:30 PM ET, the first half hour is usually running down the card, then the matches start at 7.
I'll be there in person and can't wait
I hate wrestling fans lol
I do freely admit that a lot of that will occasionally pop back into my head because of what happened to WCW. Granted, these circumstances are different, but with TNT/TBS involved it just leaves that residue of paranoia because I never want it to go back to just WWE and then little indies fighting just to stay relevant. I love the alternative. I love knowing we have somewhere else.
I'm a cultaholic subscriber and listen to their news vids almost daily, and they are not the ones preaching AEW's demise.
Every time lol
Will Ospreay vs Bryan Danielson. Will Ospreay vs konosuke takeshita.
r/Cultaholic in shambles.
This subreddit single handedly saved my love for wrestling. I was starting to think nobody liked AEW.
"Aew, cmll, and njpw isn't real wrestling!"
We need to pin this every time AEW had a ppv.
Man Cultaholic and Wrestletalk have devolved into cheap TMZ lookalikes
I know this is a Meme, but does Cultaholic really say this often? Haven’t watched them in awhile.
Not really, they'll report the doom stuff and comment on it but they're not decidedly anti-AEW or anything, just using negative news for engagement.
Gotcha. Makes sense for a YouTube News Channel honestly.
Most of the Wrestling Youtube Channels have said negative videos get far far more views than positive ones I think it was Wrestling With Wregret that put out two videos in the same day both a top 10 list one positive and one negative and the negative one had something like 4 maybe 5X the views.
It's not just Wrestling of course it's anything it's why there are more "Angry" Reviewers than positive ones.
For some reason people just prefer to watch something negative getting said than something positive
Seriously. Every AEW PPV I think it's the best one ever, and then the next one comes along and is even better. WWE PPVs these days are a bit of a snooze fest. I don't say that just to be tribal, that's my genuine feeling.
Cultaholic started out so strong and so quickly became just every other fucking smark internet rumor regurgitater.
Fun fact. AEW has had consistently better PPVs since their inception than any other wrestling company in the history of the world.
I absolutely can't do wrestling YouTube channels anymore. They just say whatever it takes to get clicks.
Tanahashi is rocking a Jericho bod.
Why Whatculture for this meme? They're about the only wrestling media I watch these days. They're far more fair than any other online presence, between Whatculture and cultaholic.
I feel sorry for Pacitti that he's become the face of this meme lmao
Tuesday: Tony Khan needs to give up the booking duties.
Tbf this wasn't that great. Solid as always but it didn't reach the hype most of their ppvs get to
I've bought every PPV since Revolution 2022 and this year's Double or Nothing was the only one I thought was mid. Every other one has been good, great or excellent. I always got the vibe that most (not all) of people at Cultaholic don't actually watch AEW just clips from their Youtube. The WWE bias is strong with them.
One fucking hundred
I used to be a fan but they are all shills now.
In what way?
Sure but… those ratings from last week? That was awful. That was like, TNA numbers.
Lol so true
What time is the ppv?
Zero Hour Pre-Show at 7 pm EST. Main card starts at 8 pm EST
Awesome, thank you
🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Am I missing something? I don't think I've ever see Wilbourne/Whatculture being that hardcore negative about AEW ever. Yes, they've been sometimes critical but not "It's dying" levels.
Getting tiresome, really.
The victim complex here is tired. Just enjoy the product and stop worrying about people saying mean things about something you like.
Yeah, I’m a regular watcher/listener to these guys and I don’t think I’ve ever heard them say anything close to “AEW is dead.” Folks here just get upset and turn on anyone who mildly criticizes AEW.
☝️
Big AEW fan. PPVs are the one thing AEW is killing it at. Collision and Rampage on the other hand..
I kind of wish Collision was on earlier like WCW Saturday Night. It kind of has that vibe to some degree.
I wish it wasn't the dedicated b-show.
Rampage I'm fine with it's position, but I do think a re-vamp on Collision would be nice, establish it as a separate entity. Or maybe use it for more promo segments to help build up those feuds even more.
Yeah I'd be fine with Rampage being a dedicated b-show.
Collison started off so strong in the punk days. Fucking FTR vs Bullet Club Gold was easily my TV match of the year.
Collison started off strong with the following (correct me if wrong) wrestlers being pushed weekly:
Punk, FTR, BCG, Starks, Andrade, Miro?
Financially they are bleeding out and hemorrhaging week to week viewers. But I want them to succeed both from an entertainment and a capitalistic standard, but those numbers keep going the wrong way with all the talent they have
Their metrics are the same or higher this week. PPV attendance is higher than previous too.
You know fuck all about their financials and they are consistently top 5 in TV. Cable television is dying as a whole. (finally, it's dog shit)
