![they finally fixed it.](https://preview.redd.it/we5059usel8d1.png?auto=webp&s=3abbf62b7f99a6e4a2550d2762b9266ca6464f00)
I take it that road markings are now textures rather than blocks. If that's the change, then before, the lane markings you see here are paper thin blocks on top of the road. You couldn't put a bedroll down on the road, because that block was occupied by the lane marking block. You had to destroy the lane marking block first.
The lanes are still paper tin structures, but now you can place blocks over them, deleting them in the process
That's an interesting way to fix it. I hoped for a more complex solution. But being able to build on the markings at all is definitely a plus no matter what.
Did they also fix the ugly ditch when placing terrain blocks next to shapes?
A proper decal system would do a lot in improving the qol of things like this
I actually dreamed of being able to put multiple shapes into the same block with the resulting block combining all the added shapes into a single shape.
The game would create and cache mixed shapes whenever a player combines two shapes with a specific combination of relative rotations for the first time. The shape referenced by the block would be the combined shape and therefore memory overhead would be almost zero.
Block with combined shapes would be same as any other block. Mining it would remove the entire block.
You could basically combine all shapes with eachother and whenever you add a new shape to an already occupied block, the block material stays the same, you don't lose the shape you are adding and the shape of the block changes to the combined shape of what you add and what's already there.
You could basically remove all combined shapes from the game and it would be the next evolutionary step in base building as you would never be on the hunt for that one corner piece anymore.
This was a minecraft mod back in the early 2010s. Well, the idea of putting multiple redstone wires and creating circuits within the 1x1x1 block.
Why not make it into a separate block? Like painted asphalt or something? That why the lane would stay as is when you take the bedroll.
Because the asphalt here uses the game's other voxel system that handles terrain only. Which is weird, but here we are.
Oh okay awesome lol finally it was so annoying
So when you pick up the roll the marking is still gone I assume?
Yes it's gone forever
Why the fuck would you place a bedroll on a road. Ive been playing this game for years and never noticed you couldn't
It's an example. I like to build drive through garages, smacking out the road markings every time was tiresome.
Okay thay makes sense lol im racking my brain for the significance of the bedroll. Like what tech do i not about
It is an example. You can now place any block on them
If your party goes through a quest and you die, you don't want to respawn kilometers away from them.
Spawn near backpack
Yeah honestly, with spawn near backpack I don't think I ever use beds other than fast travel because I left something important at home. And that's a rare occurrence anyway.
Yeah its nice to die and spawn where all my spare weapons are, in case i die on the Nth floor of whatever tower
Finally, I can camp in the middle of the street again.
Sounds OP
Being able to place things on road strips? Yeah.
I assume you can't use them for reinforcement now.
No more using road markings to make paths the player can walk on that zombies can't?
There are tons of other force field shapes which should still work fine.
It was mentioned in one kr the devstreams :)
It’s glorious!
Shame they didn't fix ducking under a 1 high block.
There's nothing to fix, they literally added that on purpose
But then how would they force you through their POIs?
I go where my axe tells me to go. I just want to crawl like a normal human through a vent or something.
Dunno, If not doing a quest I just drill through to where i need to go
That's actually real?
I wonder how this works from a support perspective.
Hopefully, the whole base doesn't t come down if the paint gets destroyed somehow.
Let’s home they fix the bug with the blood and newspaper decals disappeared the closer you get to them on certain areas. ( it’s pretty inconsistent where it happens)
Sweet, now I can make horde bases in the middle of intersections with ease! 😎
Game still trash
i like it even if it looks like it's made on unity (probably because it is) >.<
Unity is the o e to blame here yes.
I am confusion
