Big knockers are the best.
Damn you! Came here to say exactly this!
These designs are from Onyx Digital Studios. I printed them in 3D Solutech silver PLA, used a sandable primer on them and sanded where necessary, sprayed them with Rust-oleum “oil rubbed bronze” spray paint, and finished them with Art Alchemy metallic bronze wax. Oh, and a matte clear coat to knock the luster down a bit.
I tell the truth, he always lies!
If I were to ask *the other guy *which way to go, what would he say?
Then do the opposite of that.
Oof, just like IItempered1. He’s the liar, I’m always telling the truth…
I printed out the same ones about a year ago. I went much darker on my paint though. More of a dark copper color with some verdigris to make them look even older.
Those look great!!
Hell yes! Nice work 👍🏻
Those are an excellent thing to make, and they turned out very well!
Have your tried Rub 'N Buff? They have a spanish copper color that might look fantastic on those!
I was aiming for movie accuracy, so actually went out of my way to dull the finish on them a bit. Compare the picture of them with the bronze wax applied to the one of me holding one of them.
I didn't intend that to be an insult.
I think they look great! Was just throwing out an alternative finish idea.
I've considered making these so many times now but they would be such a waste to print since I'm the only one in my household/family who'll even get the reference.
Out of curiosity did you find a design which has holes in the back for hanging hooks or is it flat?
It’s flat, though when I printed a Witcher wolf head for my brother-in-law last month, I used Tinkercad to add a hole for a screw. These were for my sister, and there was an even chance that she would want to put them on either a wall or her doors, so I just got some adhesive mounting strips.
I'm totally confused, we just started to watch this movie yesterday evening ! Haha Good job op ! 😉👍
I think the fedex guy doesn’t knock on your door loud enough!
Absolutly amazing job! They look great, and a really great movie! Any chance where to get the stl? My sister would go mental.
It’s linked in my first comment… Onyx Digital Studios on Cults 3D.
What? Labyrinth is a well-known classic.
Should do the ones from Gary and His Demons :)
Looks good!
It's very rude to stare!
Great job. Looks really nice.
Keep meaning to make a goblin city gate, but have been a bit busy as of late.
Would need quite a bit to work up the model, but want one for my front gate...
Man, with some flexible filament and some servo’s these could be animated. That would be amazing.
I love your knockers! They look really big! May I touch your lovely knockers?
The list goes on. Nice print tho!
How do you get the ring part inside the face part? What filament can you use that's flexible enough without simply snapping??
I used 3D Solutech PLA… it’s a pain in the butt to get it to stick to the build surface firmly and without warping, but has great layer adhesion, and is less brittle than most brands’ standard PLA. You’re probably also failing to take into consideration that the ends of the ring don’t have to be pulled apart from one another that much; you just have to pull one end up and the other down, allowing you to slot them in one after the other.
The views aren't sufficient for me to see how to do that. From the flat front perspective it looks like those ends would have to be pulled pretty far apart. Oh well, no matter. Nice knockers!
This is an old thread but I'd be very interested to buy the 'mouth' knocker like you are holding please?
Damn nice knockers.
