After month of contemplating YouTube and this sub, my A1 is finally here!! Summer is really humid here in South Korea so I wasn't taking any chances and also got a Sovol dryer 😅 Looking at the prints on the SD card I almost started with the Benchy but getting the scraper first seemed like a good idea. How would you rate my first print?
Better experience than first experience ender 3 users lmao
I laugh but I'm one, spend too long figuring out why there was under extrusion
same here
Congratulations! Keep your fingers crossed for me, my new A1 with light AMS should arrive in a few days... it's time to retire my i3 Mega S after almost 7 years of honorable service.
If you want to have a reverse bowden setup (bowden before the extruder) you should definitely make sure its ID 3mm tube, if its ID 2mm tube which is what I assume you have it will add a lot of resistance that could induce print artifacts and such.
And obviously try to make it as short as possible to further reduce resistance
Thanks for the heads-up, I kinda bought this kit in a hurry and will definitely upgrade the tube!
Huh.... You just made me realize something about my previous setup I never thought to be the reason for it.
I knew I had too much drag, I didn't think that maybe I could look for wider tubes...
I actually just recently did a lot of work to shorten my travel distance from dry box to printer
Dude that was my first print too with the A1! Welcome to the cult!
YaaaY good Job! Happy printing!!!
HAHA, my first print was also a scraper :) Of course I used it a lot for a few days then figured out if you wait for bed to cool a bit everything pops off.
So it begins...
Tools to print more tools? This is the Way.
Wow, good choices in starter gear. I was too cheap for an A1 but that'd be my first choice if I had the budget, even if Bambu's approach to software rubs me the wrong way.
Best wishes in your printing journey!
First print is not a benchy? It's like coding without hello world! Just kiddin
Nice! Was it difficult?
Assembly and calibration were a breeze! My only issue was with updating the firmware, there's no Bambu shop here so the one I got it from imported it from China and those models are region locked... But thanks to the internet, I found a tutorial on how to do it through the local network 😮💨 Finally I struggled a bit to load the filament but got it working and it printed great right away!
Nice! I really want one but I’m accident prone and not very good at designing lol. What kind of stuff you want to make?
Like many people a Mandalorian armor hahaha I got the files a long time ago but couldn't find an affordable way to get it printed so I decided to do it myself! Then I realized what 3D printing could do and now I just wanna print things for fun but also useful prints to use around the house.
Awesome!
How’s that dryer work? Mine didn’t do anything really, 14ish hours of drying and it didn’t do anything. A couple hours In the s1 and it was fine
Seems to work good for me, humidity was 50%+ when I started and now it's around 20%. They recommend leaving the lid open a bit as well.
So yeah, everyone buys this dryer (including me) because it is cheap and has room for two spools. The thing is, it kinda isn't great. You can make it dry things decently but you need to prop the lid open on the latches, otherwise the humidity won't escape.
The s1 works so much better for me even though it’s also sealed
Your first printer is a Bambu A1, SALUTE! Happy printing!
