I'd say vectorheart can count.
Metalheart and late 90's/early 00's cgi aesthetic definitively. About the latter, it's really hard to explain, but basically Diablo II's aesthetic is what does it for me, specifically the lo-fi dithered power ups mini sprites that you pick throughthru any level and stuff like that.
Checkout the opening cinematic for Tekken Tag Tournament 1. I think you’d like that. Even the music captures the y2k vibe
Gonna check it out later, I've watched Tekken 3's intro, but not the other games ones, so this sounds interesting for me. Appreciate the recommendation!
I am absolutely in love with metalheart. Gen X Soft Club is also one of my favs.
We're on the same spot lol, I thank DeviantArt for making me discover such an awesome aesthetic, specially cuz I kept finding cool Winamp skins (looking at you Breeder Unit v1) and Wallpapers as well. As much as I love the Cybercore aesthetic, there's something with Metalheart that gives it an unique aura, prob because it's always pixel perfect. Soft Club is also pretty neat!
Nitzu on Twitter makes some really good metalheart stuff, I find the aesthetic calming. I associate Solar Fields or H.U.V.A. Network music with it.
Nitzukai right? Just wondering so I'm not searching for the wrong profile lol. Samee, I associate house music with Soft Club a lot, the whole Machine Says Yes by FC/Kahuna album always comes to my mind when I think about it, the first NFS Underground as well when it comes to games.
nitzukai yes.
Thanks!
Im completely torn between soft club, cybercore and metalheart
When I was growing up, always had a strange love for McBling; it was tacky, it was an eyesore, it was over the top, but I still loved it despite not being the demographic lol
Nowadays, also gotta say I love Cybercore as well as, "Matrixcore", for style? I don't know the terminology, but can say that leather jackets looked and still look sick, my favourite showcase in media being Christopher Ecclestone's 9th Doctor
Oh, and shoutout to blobitecture which I definitely associate with early 2000s projects such as Birmingham's Selfridges building/the Bullring
Cybercore, Metalheart, and Gen X Soft Club, which are really just Y2K and don't need all these specific microlabels for it.
Three equally have a sleek clean-cut feel while Urbling and Mcbling are the opposite
I love all of them the same 😍😍😍😍
Vector Heat (obviously) and Gen X Soft Club. And sure, some Matrixcore for fun. These were my favourites as a teen in the late 90s and early 00s and still are.
Gen x soft club and FantasY2K
Metal heart is my favorite followed by Cyber core and then soft club. Metal Heart is so ominous yet cool, cyber core is like the other side of the same coin - looks liminal yet hopeful. Soft club is just pleasing to look at even if it looks like a textbook lol
5, 100%
Youg adult was a Millennial in 2000. Gen X were already middle aged adults.
I like Cybercore and Dark Y2K the most.
Vectorheart counts, right? Like Wipeout and Toonami?
