Putting together a new kit in an MR Medlid bag, is anyone using these for wilderness med? If so I would love any recommendations/tips as far as organization and setup goes, or if you want to just attach a picture of your setup that would be greatly appreciated.
For context I have my WFR cert and I'm in EMR school right now.

Awesome, I see those posts now sorry I should have checked before putting this up. I'm loving it so far, looks like I'm running a pretty similar setup to you. Just BLS right now, mostly for WMI (backpacking trips and mountain biking) but also to keep in my car or bring to class for urban medicine. As I get farther through my EMR course and get licensed I'll start adding some more advanced things, probably N/OPAs, sutures, etc.

Okay, cool. Read through your list. I like it, it looks good for WFR. Do you guys learn basic vitals? I keep a BP kit, SpO2 meter, and thermometer in mine.
When I asked what it’s connected to, I mean what pack do you use it with. Mine lives on a tactical tailor 3day plus.

Tip (learned from experience): use lithium AAs and AAAs in your med gadgets. They tend to handle temperature swings better and are less likely to self-drain sitting in your bag, both positive traits for an outdoor aid bag.

Add some Loperamide for the poo-poos.
Maybe consider a less sedating antihistamine such as Claritin or Zyrtec in addition to the benadryl. That way you can handle allergies/itching without making the patient sleepy
Yes! The Medlid is great. I have one for SAR that I wear as a shoulder/waist bag for hasty searches, or strap to my bigger MR Scapegoat when we transition to longer periods in the field. It’s a great little bag and I think its size is perfect for wilderness medicine (since it will resist any urges you may have to overpack).
