A Brooklyn-based ice cream company is bringing South Asian-inspired flavors to the DMV with its first D.C. location. ~Malai~ will open a location at 1407 T Street, NW on Saturday, May 18 at noon. The ice cream shop will offer customers $3 scoops on their opening day, and the first 50 customers will receive a free tote bag.
NYC-based Malai ice cream company to open first DC location just in time for summer
Think so
Yea they closed in October last year
Was scared it was taking over Colada shop for a second!
I am so hype for this, their flavors are really nice. Tried their ice cream sandwiches from their ice cream cart on the high line and they were so good!
Can confirm. I've been to their Brooklyn location, their ice cream is excellent. I was quite bummed about Ice Cream Jubilee closing, but this is a wonderful alternative.
Admittedly, I'm also just a sucker for cardamom.
By asian flavors are they offering the really cool ones like green tea, sesame, or even ube?????
They're most popular flavor is Cardamom Pistachio Crumble and they'll have a new Cherry Black Cardamom flavor!
Cherry Black Cardamom! Can’t wait to try
FYI those are not south Asian but southeast and East Asian.
I swear that these hipster ice cream shops are a social experiment to find the upper limit of what people will pay for ice cream.
LOL! Experiment or not, I'll try anything once
Even heroine?
Wonder Woman, please.
Yep
I will give up my first born for the right ice cream flavor.
This place is amazing. Great news!
I don't often go out of my way for ice cream but....might try this.
That's where Ice Cream Jubilee used to be, right?
