I wouldn't use an investment app w/ a 15 minute delay. Even Yahoo has real time data for free.
In Europe a lot of brokers have 15 minute delays, and you need to pay to see real time information. US stocks are usually real time though
You should not be using market orders
Which firm is that? You should not need to pay for real-time stock price info. It's unheard of. You should switch to any big US firms if you are in the US
All brokerages warn you there is a delay. I think in reality it’s near real time. Nowhere near 15 minutes. If OP is using an app that just displays data they may be using some free tier API that really does have a substantial delay.
Brokerages need to be extreemly transparent on their market data. Basically every major broker at this point has a free L1 realtime feed for US Equities if you quality as a non-professional investor, and if they only offer a delayed feed you really need to find a new broker.
I thought maybe IBKR did not because I do remember pre-pandemic they had some nominal cost refundable by commissions, but even they have a free L1 feed now.
