Scottie's record shop is awesome because it has such a cute dog that followed me around as I looked at records. It was the most precious experience. Absolutley awesome. The Groovy Graveyard is awesome too. Its in Asbury Park and has a shit ton of vinyl, and horror collectables. Princeton Record Exchange is really cool too. They probably have the most variety of selection in the state. Factory Records in Dover is awesome and has a lot of cds, vhs, cassette and vinyl. Really good selection there. Its literally a warehouse full of music stuff. Its awesome. Revillia Grooves and Gear is really good too. Great staff and nice people, with a pretty good alternative selection. There is also another record store in dover like 5 min away from Factory Records. Its called Vinylking Records, and they have loads of iconic titles and autographed merch. In the similar area, there is also a cafe called Sweet Vinyl Cafe. They are a record shop and cafe fusion, and they have awesome iced coffees, with loads of punk and metal vinyl. Along with that, Music Connection up in North Jersey is an awesome shop. Its a total mess inside, which means you need to really dig through the titles in order to find good stuff. I found loads of original pressing hair metal and glam metal, as well as 80s metal. I got a bunch of original pressing Guns and Roses and Def Leppard titles. In the same area is Record King, which is a cute store in a beautiful house. Some guys from there also work at Factory Records, which is awesome. Ive been going to record stores for about 3 years, and I have set the goal for myself to visit every single record store in the state. These are my highlights from my journey so far. So many good ones closed down due to covid tho, such as The Metal Music Stop and Vintage Vinyl :(. There are still loads of good record stores in NJ tho.
