I got a free puppy from Walmart. They said she is half husky half lab. She’s walked funny since we got her I figured she would grow out of it but she’s still very wobbly. Her gums are really light and she doesn’t seem all there :/ and anytime you put her down in your arms or on someone she just sits the way you placed her and doesn’t move… she’s had her shots and dewormer. Someone said it could be low blood sugar so I’ve been giving her honey/ syrup. I just want her to be okay 😭 someone help

She HAS to go to a vet ASAP. She looks very anemic (not enough red blood cells - which can be fatal) and likely needs serious care.

Vet ASAP.. There is definitely a reason she was free. Please get this baby seen. White gums are a bad sign

Did they tell you they had her shots and dewormer? Then they 99% lied to you.. please go to a vet clinic

No I got her shots tho through a friend who’s mom is a vet.

Ok that pup does not look old enough to have all her shots. Maybe the first round or second. Shots for Parvo and distemper need to be done in a series and spaced 2-3 weeks apart.

How many shots and how long have you had her?

How long have you had this puppy? It needs to go to the vet immediately. There are a number of things that can cause those symptoms and most of not all of them will result in death if left untreated.

Well when you get a new puppy free or not you always need a new puppy exam. Even if she had shots she needs booster in 3 to 4 weeks. And again after that. But get to vet right away if her gums are really light. Did they give you proof of these vaccines and deworming. She is beautiful please get her help.

This poor puppy looks very ill. Please take it to a vet immediately. I don't think posting on Reddit is the most important and proactive thing you could be doing. People who give puppies away for free rarely tell the truth about the puppies health or care about where they end up The whole post makes me feel very sad :-(

Yes, all of this, but please don’t discourage us lay folk from asking questions. We don’t know what we’re looking at, and we don’t know if we’re seeing issues or just being dramatic.

Sometimes we just need guidance, even if that means taking our babies to a real doctor!

Imagine if people like OP felt like they’re not allowed to ask here, and then just never got told that their pup needs a doc.

Understand what you are saying and I'm not discouraging anyone from asking questions. You can see on my profile, I too, have asked for advice about my dog.

However if you don't know your pet is unwell then I don't think that's really a good starting point as a pet owner. Especially a puppy who should be bouncy and energetic. You must admit..the poor pup hasn't had the best start in life at all and absolutely needs treatment ASAP.

I'll also say it again, those giving away puppies shouldn't be trusted to give anyone a healthy puppy...for free.

I get told I have high standards for my pets, but I see it as basic animal welfare.

As you can see in my first comment I advised the vet straight away.

The op could also just call a local vet and ask what they should do as the Internet doesn't always give the correct advice this would save time for the pup.

Just my take on this!

She could have been given basic puppy wormer but hookworms are deadly and need different treatment. Those gums and her demeanor have anemia written all over them.

I've seen blind dogs do that when moved to a new area. Does it see look like she can see alright?

Either way her gums do look pale so for sure something isn't right.

a little side note, if you have a petsmart (atleast where i am from) they have a banfield hospital, they have really affordable pet insurance which covers all shots, fecal samples, genetic test and blood work and teeth stuff etc! having a puppy is very stressful but i personally loved them and the insurance for mine!!
