dear binions, i think it’s time to add some stacks to this pile of money. “the million dollar display” was first unveiled in 1954 and was quite impressive for its time (adjusted for inflation that would be $11.6 million today).
back in the 50’s a million dollars meant you were wealthy; you could live in a mansion, have a fleet of cars, own your own plane, and never work a day in your life. but today there’s an increasing number a cities were you’d be lucky if a million bucks got you a nice 4 bedroom house, a new luxury car, and a few years to pay taxes and insurance before you go bust.
i’m not saying a million dollars isn’t impressive or that it wouldn’t change someone’s life, just pointing out it’s not what it used to be 🤷🏻♂️
