Pulisic and Musah start for Milan vs. Torino (2:45 ET / Paramount+)
Pioli is gone and Milan are rumored to get another midfielder. I get the argument that Musah is still young but this will be his 4th full season of senior football. He better figure things out or Milan will look at alternatives.
I sincerely do not understand this critique of Musah’s game. Like I get it, he’s not a creative player. But he also isn’t asked to be. And neither are any of Milan’s midfielders bar RLC. Just look at the positions he occupies on the field to understand he is doing exactly what his coach asks of him.
He’s also 21 getting significant minutes for a top 3 Italian side in a top 5 league. People need to chill lol. Also, I agree. I think we try to think of him as a 10 and that’s really not what he should be playing for us.
He started & played in over 40 games this season, this is normal pattern at almost all big clubs, the first year a young player is brought in. Its rare for a 21 year old to be a full time starter at a top 3, give him 3 years at Milan & lets see where he is at when he's 24.
I think American fanboys thought they had the next Xavi or something in Musah. It was so hilariously stupid, because any quad national of that caliber wouldn't have committed to America.
Pulisic been a rock this season with his health and fitness for Milan. Career highs in starts, minutes played, and goal contributions.
The only thing uncertain about his situation heading into the summer is who will be his new club manager
Bah gawd that's Thomas Tuchel's music.
Don't you put that evil on Puli, Disastrous Diddling.
Pulisic created the most goal chances and goal attempts. Still played to cautious and it’s understandable considering the opposing team are defending in groups.
Musah looked good and made some great runs. His decision making in the final third is still in question.
I don't think the game has slowed down yet for Musah.
I think Okafor has created the most… atleast that’s what FotMob says
I hope Milan has the money for a few good defenders in the summer window.
I hope they sell Pulisic to a better team, just don’t know where would be better but they are awful
Lmao he just got there and I doubt they will sell someone with 24 g/a in all comps during his first season.
You don’t think he could be playing for a better team? He could be playing for a team that competes for CL every year
Name a team then?
I hope they sell Pulisic to a better team, just don’t know where would be better but they are awful
Are you unable to read?
So there is none then, what a load of nonsense
You and the other commentators are the one that made it into this big convo arguing about it. All i said was that he could play for a better club due to this abilities.
Surely there’s a better club in mind? How are you making the statement without a club in mind?
Do you want me to name every club that is better than Ac Milan and plays with wingers? We have no idea what will happen to these clubs in the summer, but here I go… Man City if Silva leaves (heavily rumored for a while), Liverpool if Salah leaves (might go to Saudi), Bayern (Mueller is old, they need an AM/Winger flex), PSG (farmers league and they get memed but better than ACM and need a winger with Mbappe out), Tottenham (lots of outgoing transfers this summer and Ange is probably a better manager than anyone ACM will get)
Maybe? That's also assuming if a "better" club even wants him.
He's only had one solid season at a new club right after being under utilized and having a weak season at Chelsea.
Why wouldn’t they? He’s been great this season and he’s very versatile
Name a better club that has a need for him. One that will let him walk into a starting spot.
There aren't many.
Hence my original comment…
Lame, bennacer taking the pen? At least it was a good pen.
I thought Pulisic was the penalty taker? He wins one and doesn't even get to take it haha.
I don't know if I ever saw an official source say it, or any quote from Pioli.
It was just "reported" on some ussoccer sites.
Then again, bennacer was injured when that was announced like half a season ago, maybe things changed.
Yep, guess it was wrong.
*crosses fingers for a goal and assist today*
Guess Pulisic isn’t the penalty taker after all. Bummer
Milan seriously need to go shopping for better defenders and midfielders. I really like Musah and feel he has loads of potential, but his poor final third decision making is not worthy of starting next season. Pulisic did decent. He created some good chances and also made some good goal attempts that sadly kept getting blocked. Torino wanted to win this game more so than Milan and got the win. Simple as that. Their 3-5-2 formation did what it was set out to do, which is to frustrate Milan’s attack and beat them on the counterattack.
Musah is a pure ball carrier right now. A more advanced version of Darlington Nagbe, if you will.
He needs to work on his final third and he'll be deadly.
Musah has a lot of promise, he just needs to learn when to release the damn ball. His dribbling has been a pleasant surprise.
Lol Musah just killed Tchiaw
I thought puli was taking pks now?
Musah has been terrible in the final third. Seems he's really lost his confidence there. Obviously very young but it's been an awkward season for him.
He’s never had confidence there. Literally the only thing holding him back
True that it's never really been a part of his game but at this point it also feels like he's in his own head about it. Was hard to watch that one sequence where he passed on the shot.
Today he is certainly fitting his stereotype of being bad in the final third.
Milan getting hammered, down 2-0 in the first 40'
Puli hasn’t seen much of the ball, he needs to get more involved or they need to get him more involved
He's had a few good crosses and a free header that he sailed over the crossbar, he's been plenty involved IMO
I don’t remember any good crosses tbh
Did you smoke too much gelato??
Can never smoke too much gelato brother
Idc take puli and musah out get them ready for Copa
I thought puli was designated pk taker? Regardless, good on him for earning that.
Looks like not, he might be 3rd after Giroud and Bennacer
Puli was okay-decent, but my man Musah had a stinker
I think this is the worst I’ve ever seen Musah play.
With Leao and maybe another, keeping Pulisic on, I expect some kind of comeback
Pulisic is not staying on with how hes played unless hes moving to the 10
Is your day ruined since Pulisic had a good game as a right winger?
Bro people here think he has a good game if he just touches the ball
Anyone know why Leão hasn’t been starting the last few weeks? I know he’s been inconsistent this year, but he’s still probably their most dangerous attacking player. Also, in Europe they don’t have playoffs, so their season is over after next Saturday. Unlike American sports, there’s no incentive to rest players to prepare for postseason. Unless you have a European final coming up. Which obviously AC Milan does not have. All I can think of is maybe Milan just wants to see what kind of attacking talent they have with the possibility of Leão leaving this summer? I know this isn’t specifically related to US soccer, but just curious
Edit: I guess it is sort of related to US Soccer because if Leão does leave, Pulisic may be able to play on the left next season.
They are resting a couple of their starters so I think it’s just to give other players more time. Leao, Giroud, Calabria, Maignan, and Adli are all on the bench and are usually in the line ups frequently
Good call. I think Maignan is nursing an injury. But I didn’t even think of the others who also aren’t starting today lol
Ya idk but he’s on the bench, with another keeper so I think he’s fine
Probably resting him and preventing potential injury for the Euros?
Definitely a possibility. If that’s the case, I’ll be pissed if Puli gets injured and has to miss Copa America 😂
Lol yeah, I guess the euros are like almost a week before the Copa so that might be taken into consideration.
Haha fair enough
There better be at least 6 minutes of extra time because Torino players are dropping like flies.
Not a good performance from any of our guys today.
If you disagree feel free to convince me otherwise.
Pulisic at least created a penalty and created chances. I don't think he was bad.
Puli not doing good enough to move the ball forward.
Musah playing with a lot of energy.

Milan doesn’t have anything to play for at this point, they are locked in to 2nd place. But it will still be nice to see Musah get more minutes and see if he can figure out what to do in the final third.
