I have 3 Samsung 49 inchers. This one is the g9 odysseyI believe. Not the neo, but the standard. I love ultra wides so if course I put one on this chair.
Grandmas Boy
I've slept with 112 women (to be fair, most were ugly/crackhead/obese/over 40/poor/etc.) And a handful of prostitutes in the mix.
It's more a state of mind than any physical state. Say it with me ... INTACT
Not following, lol
Good lord you're even more of a cliche than the picture suggested.
This is worse than being a virgin incel
Not to me. That's why I went that route. I wanted to feel something vs nothing. I understand many would choose nothing. But I wanted sexual pleasure. And apparently don't mind that stuff as I keep going back for more.
Dude, something is very wrong with you. You should get yourself diagnosed.
This type of person never seeks help because, in their mind, they're doing nothing wrong.
I love how Reddit champions the rights and dignity of sex workers but piles on the shame to their clients.
Absolutely correct. Though like I mentioned in another comment, I do plan on getting a diagnosis from a professional at some point. Again, not because I see my behavior as a problem, but more for maybe an explanation for that behavior. I am, in fact, curious as to why I am so different from the norm.
I don't think you are different from all people. At least counting sexual partners and visiting prostitutes seems like something a lot of people are doing.
But admitting it. That's the area where I differ, lol
Sorry I offended you, miss.
I actually do plan on that at some point. I know I have tendencies that are very different from the norm. I am just curious as to what they would call this.
Sure did. No black book though. But I think it's pretty crazy, especially as I started as a 33 year old virgin loser incel, and got to that number in 5 years. Looking at the number of downvotes people don't seem to approve of my methods which is fine. I made the choices I made to get the results I wanted. I wanted to have sex. I realized at my age and experience (none), and the way things were going, I was not in a position to have standards. When I want something I really want it. (That mindset is the reason why I have that chair by the way, as well as other things that are uncommon for people to have) anyways, I found out how to achieve that goal, and step 1 is lowering standards. Like all the way. I was willing to do that to get what I wanted. Not condoning it. Not suggesting it to others. Realistically I would advise against it. But I didn't care. I wanted to feel something.
The people who disagree with me can only fit into at least one of three groups. They are either #1: women. #2: people who have never been virgin incels (which includes #1 of course), or #3: virgin incels that would rather remain virgin incels than do what I did. Straight facts!
This screams of neurodivergent or just straight cap
Don't offend neurodivergents by associating this dude with us.
the ones who don’t seek or accept help for the worse of their thoughts ends up like homie OP. That’s a whole other debate tho 🖤
Man what
Someone who counts beyond like 20 is definitely lying lmao
Id rather be a 40 yo virgin than this
No thanks , not ergonomic at all
looks like back/neck pain waiting to happen. Laying back in front of PC is not ergonomic.
That’s my biggest issue when playing late night I kinda lay back on my seat and just reach out to mouse and keyboard. Its so hard to just sit straight 90degree and play 🤦🏻♂️
It's likely sitting up straight might not be healthy for your back though. https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/57654#1
Yeah but at least yoy have to use some muscles to sit up. If you are in this weird rig for any length of time you will start to see muscle atrophy in the back.
Yup, especially when the session gets longer than 1h etc.
Especially when spreading democracy, time flies!
You need to get a better chair then that encourages you to sit up, and adjust back tension if necessary so that you do sit up. My personal favourite chair for this is the Humanscale Liberty Task Chair, but it doesn't suit everyone as it's bodyweight counterbalanced.
After sitting for 10-12 hrs for work, the last thing I would want to do is sit for another 2-3 hr game session
I mean if you want to advocate for standing then I'm down but that's not really what they were talking about.
I do CrossFit 5 days a week so eff standing 😂 I bought an Xbox to do couch gaming since i frequent destiny a but an alternative helps a lot but with helldivers 2 🫠 back to pc
I’ve gotten an ergonomic office chair from the very beginning I knew “gaming chairs” are straight trash . But even with this still my back hurts like a bitch 😂
Personally I think it’s a great way to ensure you minimize your reproductive success
Looks like a knee and toe destroyer as well and a liability when gaming while high, which coincidentally is the state of mind this was purchased in.
I approve
Tell me you've never used a humanscale chair without telling me you are shy of human scale arse to chair action
A hot mess of cable management hell. It's clear that you have the money for the rig.... now invest in tiding that up dammit!
You think that's bad, the other setup in that room is worse. Lol
I used to tidy up wires for $200 per setup. Rich people like you paid for my schooling to be a nurse. 👍
Not rich, lol. Single, no kids, live in a cheap house that I fixed up in a low income area, and work a lot of hours. That is how I'm able to afford things that make me look "rich" lol.
Ah the bachelor life. Just as good brother. 👍
For sure. Cool electronics, fine dining, and all kinds of women coming through. I believe I'll stay single haha!
Have you try to have sex on that scorpion yet?
Nah, lol. A lot of people ask that. Seems very impractical
seems impractical to own in general, but i guess that doesn’t really matter
You told us the where fat/poor/crackheads not the women I wanna have over the floor tbh
I understand where you are coming from. Definitely. I was actually a 33 year old incel virgin loser. I had a choice. I could choose the bottom of the barrel and a world most would run from and shun. There I could feel something. Or, I could stick to my standards and remain a virgin incel loser until the day I die. I chose to feel something. I wanted to feel something. I wanted that sexual pleasure. I made my choice. I chose something over nothing and have no regrets. (Well some, but mostly don't regret my choice.)
Fair enough dude
The third option is to correct the issues that are causing you not to have relationship success. Typically this means fix your diet (eat clean), lose some weight, spend a couple hours a day working out, cut your hair, shave daily, use deodorant and maybe even cologne, hire a style advisor if necessary, change your wardrobe, and HEAVEN FORBID... Open your mind to the possibility that God exists and seek out that answer. Do these things and your life will be revolutionized.
I do workout more than most. I do have a six pack abs I do make more money than average in my area.
Those things are the reason I'm able to find success at the bottom of the barrel. I'll admit that I am lacking in "game", as far as the ability and skills to manipulate women and convince them I'm of value. Those would be the skills that would allow me to obtain higher value women. However, my goal is pretty straightforward. Not looking for a relationship or anything like that. Just interested in getting laid.
The fact that I work so many hours that I have more money than most, and the fact that I bust my ass in the gym, (I only sleep 3 hours a day) means that I am already in position to be a superior choice at the lower rungs, without having to use psychopathic manipulation techniques that could take multiple dates, etc. With the lower standards of women I go after, I am almost guaranteed a 1st date home run. I have no competition. If I start looking for anything beyond a 5/10, then I will start needing more "game", and more time to get the results I want.
Lasty, where does God fit into this equation? I opened my mind to that possibility, and I can say with a degree of certainty, all evidence points against the possibility of God. Check my comments on r/debatereligion for more.
Nothing better then not having kids to burns your money away.....I envy you man 😭....
I think it’s ugly, overpriced and totally unnecessary.
Other than that I don’t have a strong opinion about it
I actually agree with 2 out of those 3 points!
But is it comfortable? If it works for you it works for you.
Surprisingly yes. I got it specifically cause it looked cool. I didn't expect much in the way of comfort. But it is comfortable, so that's a plus. You can adjust like how far off the ground it is, then upper back area and lower back area as well as monitor height. That position you see works perfectly for me so I just leave it like that.
Than it’s great 👍🏻
This seems like it would be comfortable, I'm not getting all the negative vibes here.
The adjustments are motorized and can be moved while you are sitting there, right? Does the headrest move up and down as well as forwards and backwards so that it supports the back of the head more so than the back of the neck?
Yes it is comfortable. A lot more than I thought it would be. I just bought it cause it looked cool. But yep comfort is way better than what I would have thought. And yes there's a remote for motorized settings. It can raise up and down lower to the floor. Then there's a motor for the angle near the head, an angle near the back, and to raise and lower the monitor. How you see it here is the position I leave it in as that is the best for me. Last thing to note, is I'm 5'9 and my feet are near the end of the footrest, so If a person is over 6ft then their feet will hang off the edge.
Thanks for sharing and the good info.
Is there a convenient place to put the PC within the 'tail' structure or does one just buy a 20' HDMI cable?
You buy a long ass cable. That's if you want to run it through the tail (I do, as my pc is on the other side of the room and connected to another TV as well as another monitor.) Alternatively, you could place the pc on a shelf or something near the monitor an just run it straight to it. But even then you have to account for length if you plan on raising the screen real high. The screen position I use is actually as low as it goes. It's just that the back and headrest are leaned back some.
I read the comments, mate. It may be impractical and cost a lot of money, but I love it.
nice i like it.. but i cant have the monitor that close i dont think i can not at all sir.
Sick man, another user of the professional dentist station! I got the other one
If you are serious, and I hope you are: any thoughts on why those are not more common place? I assume a used older model wouldn't be so expensive that literally no one took the plunge.
They feel so luxurious!
It's completely ridiculous and I would never get one, but fuuuuck, it's awesome!
Personally i like it a lot! It is a personal mini world and i am not a kid to be excited easily i am saying this after a lot of years of tech etc...Now if it needs any modifications or not it's up to you none of us is sitting there :)
Linus did a YouTube review on this.
Dang Ima check that out
My 12 year old self would love it
Room is dusty AF back there man.
Yeah for sure, lol
Why didn’t you just get a big ass TV and recliner? Likely would have cost you the same.
I actually do have a big ass TV. And a projector as well
My man’s getting downvoted here for having a big ass tv and recliners as the commenter suggested lmao
Hatas gonna hate. But they don't know me or where I came from. I was a real life loser but changed my life cause I was willing to work myself literally to the death if necessary to get the things I want in life. In 2015, I was 30 years old virgin loser living with my mom making 10k a year, lol.
And recliners in every room
Wow, 57 on this too would be nuts.
Would be highly impractical as it would be too wide for this room. I have another station next to that scorpion chair. So I'd end up bumping into a 57 inch a lot!
You have that and you only took a single photo from a single angle?
My bad. Ima see if I can add some more
Don't know how to add pics to that post. I can send you some if you want??
Looks like the rig of a spider-man villain
I would feel like an idiot if this was anywhere near my home
Adios, turd nuggets.
I remember wanting a similar setup a few years ago. As I get older I'm not sure I would actually want to sit in such a thing for hours on end.
So less thoughts or opinion but rather some questions: how do you like it? Compared to a desk and chair setup, which would you rather have as your main rig? What games are you running on that ultrawide?
I think if I had to choose this or desk, I would choose this. I like it. I have a bunch of different setups in my house and I play different types of games on different setups. Games like god of war, spiderman, tomb raider, the cinematic games I play on my projector. I like to play jrpgs on my 85 inch TV. I play older games that use sprites and stuff on a 55inch TV.
For this, it's Sci fi type games. Like last I played the Mass Effect trilogy. The difference between this and other large screens is that other large screens are just large screens. This gives like a faint perception of actual motion as if you are moving in the game. And the screen being so close means you are physically turning your head sometimes and moving your eyes more, which also adds to the immersion. So it's like you are "there" like in the game. I haven't messed with vr, but I would assume it's similar to that. So I think maybe if you put on a vr helmet and leaned back in a recliner, you should get similar results.
Interesting and thanks for the response!
One of the main reasons this whole setup appealed to me so much at the time was that I had just gotten into VR gaming and the game Elite Dangerous. As great as VR is, there's plenty of times I don't want to strap a box to my head only to be unable to do anything else while I'm gaming.
One last question if you don't mind: knowing what you know now about your chair - would you buy the same one, or are there other make/models that you would go with hindsight?
From what I've seen, I would still get this one. It's the coolest one I've ever seen. Second would be the tank one, just cause it's a tank! (Cue toxic masculinity). But nah, the scorpion one appealed to me the most. Coolest looking game chair I've seen thus far. Best believe if I found something better I would begin plans to get it, lol.
Ignoring the haters:
How is the chair for you? Is the seat adjustable? Can you move the screen closer/further? Do you accidentally hit the monitor getting in or out? Do your arms get tired rdaching for keyboard or is it close enough? Is the seat cushion comfortable or terrible like the racer chairs?
Im debating getting a chair like that end of the year or next year so really curious on all the specifics. It would be with a 57inch monitor (odyssey)
Seat is adjustable for higher or lower on the ground, back, and head areas also can be adjusted, and monitor height can be adjusted too. All with a remote mechanical. There's a remote for the led lights too, but I plugged in a wifi thingy instead so I could adjust that with my phone app.
Seat cushion is comfortable in my opinion, but the comfort level may also be more a result of the customization features, which allows you to distribute your bodyweight.
The tray gets close enough, although I use a controller mostly anyways, but I do rest my hands on the tray while holding the controller.
Lastly, I'm 5'9 and my feet are at seemingly the end of the footrest, so if you are over 6ft, then your feet will dangle.
thanks!
actually now that i youtube some reviews, my biggest issue with it is the weight. Apparently the shipping package is 200kg / 400lbs??? The chair itself weighs like 265lbs. That's insane :O
Chair itself might be 300 or more. You have to plan things out. I had a team of 3 ready when it arrived (handymen). So either have friends, hire people like I did, or be a demigod. Like really. Even if you are super strong, the weight is not distributed evenly. Even with the help, I still scratched up my floor lol.
Shows money can’t buy cleanliness.
I thought that bottle was lube
Lol best comment thus far!
That is beautiful and insane. Well done man, enjoy! I'd love one of those in the future.
Though I must add a reminder that you're on reddit. The grand pleb city of the internet. Expect a lot of hate and "lul virgin" comments.
Of course
It’s so close. It’s basically a VR headset. Whats the point.
Not saying it’s not close, but that’s a 49 inch monitor (got one really cheap, bought an early version floor model) and is still maybe 4-5 feet from the users face in that photo. The curve in the monitor makes for a powerful illusion.
The distance between the back plate where it’s anchored to that monstrosity, to where the corners of the screen reach out to, but measured from the Center of the screen (I’m describing this really poorly and I know it sorry) is about a foot and a half.
Garbage 🗑️
My thoughts and opinion is, the entire thing is awful.
Ugly and kinda cringe to own (just my personal opinion)
That's perfectly alright. I was asking for opinions so I accept all.
Personally I think it’s an eye sore and looks like hell to get up and out of it too but not sure how it works. I suppose it would look cool in an arcade room of some sort though.
It is crazy getting in and out. I'm lucky I'm pretty athletic. Yes there is a remote to lift the monitor as well as adjust the different segments. But. With so many different adjustments you can make there, I found a position that is perfect for me, so I just leave it as is rather than make adjustments every time I get in and out. Then have to try to find that perfect spot again, lol
Does the arm rest move out of the way to facilitate getting in and out?
Yes
my brother in christ
i spent 1800 dollars on one of the most expensive, comfortable, high-end, ergonomic "own it for life" chairs on the market
i spent 1500 dollars on the most expensive neatly cable-managed premium rock-solid desk i could find
you spent 4000 dollars on a motorized RGB-lit lawnchair with zero cable management, absolutely no deskspace, no adjustability for future installs, way too big off a physical footprint, and most importantly of all, a hassle to get into. i hope youre never moving, either
this setup makes a piss bottle a complete necessity, because no way in hell youre crawling out of there every time you gotta piss
i really mean no disrespect, but come on man
Love this comment
Dude you have cat ear headphones lol
a woman having 10 dollar pieces of silicone on her headphones is nowhere near comparable to a man doing the gaming setup version of
If those are your hands in the photos from your posts I have a hard time believing that.
1, tell me youve never worked with your hands before without telling me
- i dont give a shit what you believe.
It looks like I'd have bruises all of the time. 🤦🏼♂️
Can't eat or drink comfortably at that angle.
I can at that angle. Works for me. Also the tray slides forward and backwards, so I can bring it closer. But you would probably set it straight up. That would be ideal I suppose. But I like that position for gaming so I just leave it in that position
Thanks for sharing about this. I would like to learn more. Does the tray hold the keyboard and mouse ((photo is a little dark)? Do you use a standard keyboard and mouse? Is the tray always parallel to the floor or can it tilt?
Yes the tray holds the keyboard and mouse. I use just random wireless keyboard and mouse off amazon. I play games with a switch pro controller or a controller designed specifically for pc. And the tray is always parallel. Doesn't tilt, but turns all the out if that make sense. Also, tray slides forward and backwards.
Thanks for the info on that.
Do you find your body in a semi-reclined angle? And if so, do you find your arms outstretched a bit more compared to a conventional set up?
My body is in a semi reclined position yes. But no my arms are not outstretched. I mentioned in other comments that you can move the tray forward and back, as needed. So it gets close enough. I actually play with a controller and rest my hands on the tray while holding the controller.
While it does look cool, I recommend learning from sim racers who have their screens at horizontal level.
Somehow it looks like a tiny desk decoration in this photo.
doesn't look comfortable not practical
I think it looks awful and like a pain in the ass to navigate but frankly it's not my stuff. If it works for you and you're liking it then it's perfect.
Keep us posted on your thoughts and opinions on it. After a long day of work and schooling, definitely don’t want another sitting session for gaming
It’s gaudy, please don’t get it
looks dumb
Looks cool, but it must be hella impractical.
EDIT: Also one more thing. Today gamers are jokes. They are more about how it looks than how their passion is. That's the same bs when you say energy drinks are gamer's choice. FFS. Why would a gamer even need energy drink? And computer is not about the cool looking. It might even be bad looking. But it must be practical and you just need to love gaming. I have three monitors NOT for the cool looks, but I use them and need them. This is practical use.
Right. I didn't get this with the intention of it being my main gaming station. (It's not, by the way.) I did get it for no other reason than that it looked cool to me. I don't even consider myself a "gamer" by today's standards because I only play single player games. No online games at all. No interaction with others in a game. I have 7 gaming stations (or I'll say "entertainment " stations) in my house and only ever play by myself.
Edge + screatched floor. Use a carpet.
I like the idea, but the way you’ve done it looks ugly
People who buy this will let it collect dust at a corner after a few uses.
You have too much money and too little common sense.
The ultimate masterbatorium
I thought all the droidekas were destroyed.
Doesn't look very comfortable with how the head rest bends like that tbh, would prefer it to be inline with the back support.
That's the position I've found most comfortable to me. But I'm sure different people would want it in a different position. I like it. Not straight up, but not too far back
Waste of money.
Definitely for sure.
I can’t put my 8k 65” monitor there.
That chair setup is tarded. Enjoy the neck/eye/wrist strain and carpel tunnel.
Can you elaborate on this idea? Does the wrist strain and carpel tunnel you refer to come from the user's upper body being at an obtuse angle relative to a flat (parallel to floor) keyboard?
I want to know more about good ergonomics. How would this set up contribute to eyestrain? Is the monitor too close or too far away? Thanks
May thine virginity shine brightly for a thousand years
