I'd like to get out for a weekend jaunt somewhere in October or early November. Would any of you be interested in doing a group hike? I'm open for locations. Throw out some ideas!
Dan, early November works for me. Do you have any locations in mind? Would the knobstone be an option? What about other southern Midwest trails?
Sorry for the delay. I don't have any locations in mind, i was just throwing out an idea. Obviously we have the Knobstone, there's a Shawnee State Forest loop in Ohio, you can do a portion of the Sheltowee Trace Trail in Kentucky. I'm also fine with going north but don't think I care for northern Wisconsin this time around.
Dan, could you send me your phone number, I'd like to move the communication off of Reddit and we'll put together a text group to coordinate. I like the idea of doing the southern Midwest.
Sent you a chat message
I’d be interested depending on timing. Got a few things going on then. Up for anywhere.
Does early November work for your timing?
6th through 13th does
U/wevebeentired I'd like to take our communication off of reddit. Could you send me a phone number and I'll put together a text group. Send it via chat or direct message
I’m interested
Cool, does early November work for you?
U/nate_f I'd like to take the communication off of reddit. Could you send me your phone number in a chat or a message please?
How many days are you all thinking of?
We'll get together sometime on Friday afternoon, hike a few miles, do a long day on Saturday and then finish off whatever segment we choose on Sunday and then drive back home.
Going to PM you. I might be able to make it.
Did you decide on a location? I was planning on a trip to Big South Fork or the Smokies toward the end of October or early November.
We are going to go the weekend of November 10th through the 12th. We're going to do the Taum Sauk section of the Ozark trail. Right now there are four of us that are going. Love to have you join us.
Hey Bruce, Im up for it but would have to be November for me, as I have a vacation schedule for the end of October. November is a actually s good time for a trip in the lower Midwest as long as it's not too rainy, but not sure if you had a location in mind.
Also I actually got to the Dakotas in the week before Labor Day and hiked a tiny of the Maah Daah Hey Trail. It's definitely some unique country out there compared to the green tunnels we usually encounter around here.
