I don’t support Idaho with this stupid decision!
wtfDid you consider your own interpretation of this Twitter post summarizing the content of the legislation isn't accurate?
The bill in question prohibits government entities from compelling public employees from using preferred pronouns. Public employees can still use pronouns. They can still use pronouns other people ask them to use. But it means a school can't require by policy teachers to use the pronouns students pick for themselves.
Text of the bill. Just another, "lie halfway around the world before the truth has its boots on."
As someone who thinks people should always use someone's preferred pronouns, good.
Another win for free speech.
What’s even the point?
Because public school districts will sometimes have policies requiring teachers to use the preferred pronouns of students or face disciplinary or other adverse action. You can read the declaration of intent at the top of the bill.
Thank you for the common sense. Of course people here would pretend to believe it was all pronouns being banned, acting shocked. They're "so smart" they can't read a title contextually to current events. It's getting exhausting. If you're not stupid, stop pretending to be stupid for dramatic effect *sigh*.
You're falling for a baiting headline is how
In Italian the pronouns may be omitted...
You can’t, I wonder how long they’ll take to realise what happens
It won't happen because it's not true.
What do you mean they
Assuming that the law is written so broadly that it does ban “all pronouns” then I guess by always referring to something with its full noun. Can’t wait for a teacher to try to address a class and instead of being able to say “you guys” having to list out everyone’s name. Also if this law were to do that then even stuff like “you” and “I” would be off the table which is funny and I can only imagine how this would work for standard reading exercises lol.
If I had to guess though when they say “all pronouns” they mean “all third person singular pronouns” in which case you’d just have to use everyone’s name instead of he/she, which while annoying is not as destructive to language as literally getting rid of all pronouns.
It's called daho now since I is a pronoun
The "twitter moment" is believing this crap.
We're living in a time where there's so much shit happening that's actually real that it's become nearly impossible to distinguish real from fake at face value
This one was obvious. This sub has always had issues with believing everything they read though lol.
I don't find it that obvious. This sounds exactly like the stuff Trumpers are foaming at the mouth for
Edit: why the downvotes? Paid any attention to the news the last few months?
That doesnt mean it will pass or that anyone is stupid enough to put that into law and tank their reputation. Also this type of bill is always exaggerated just like the "don't say gay" Bill which was bad but not even half as bad as Twitter would have had you believe. This is just a hype account making shit up as usual on Twitter to make stupid Trump followers believe it.
Wdym, Magas tank their reputation over a myriad of stupid things, all the time...
Of you're an idiot, yes
"Do YOU support this?"
This is good if you read the whole bill, good on idaho
Good for people who want to act like jerks, no doubt.
Why? It gives ppl freedom of speech. You aren’t required to call someone what their preferred pronouns are. It should be voluntary and if it goes against your beliefs you shouldn’t be required to say it under threat of punishment. I can’t believe ppl want to limit free speech, it’s mind boggling to me.
Ah yes, everyone must now be referred to by proper nouns alone
"Okay class we- Uh, Me have work for y- CLASS, me have work for class so.."
idk why you’re getting downvoted, this is how’s it’s gonna happen
No, it’s not, anyone with a singular braincell knows this and recognizes what’s being targeted. This entire thread is an embarrassing and cringeworthy redditmoment.
oh good it’s fake
Reddit moment would be supporting enforced pronouns not being against it or making light of it. A reddit moment is based on what most of Reddit believes not what random cringe people believe.
LMFAO WHAT RHE HELL??
How the fuck are they going to speak without prounouns?
