/r/travel is a community about exploring the world. Your pictures, questions, stories, or any good content is welcome. 

Clickbait, spam, memes, ads, brochures, classifieds, surveys or [self-promotion](http://www.reddit.com/wiki/selfpromotion) will be removed. 


**No politics** and keep it civil.

###Submission Guidelines

1. [**Read the FAQ** and search before posting](/r/travel/wiki/index). Avoid repetitive questions. Search the subreddit to see if topics have been covered already. Check our **[destinations of the week](/r/travel/wiki/topic-of-the-week)** page for country and city tips.

2. [Include a **descriptive title**](https://www.reddit.com/r/travel/wiki/submission-guidelines#wiki_use_descriptive_titles). One or two word titles rarely provide enough information. Include the country/region.

3. If submitting an image or video **include context** - [read this section of the FAQ](http://www.reddit.com/r/travel/wiki/faq#wiki_.22here_are_my_holiday_photos.21.22). No quotes, selfies, or other clichés: we're not your facebook.

4. Be **[as specific as possible](https://www.reddit.com/r/travel/wiki/submission-guidelines#wiki_give_specifics)**: where you're starting, dates of travel, budget, interests, places you've been, things you like and dislike. Visa and passport questions: **state your country of citizenship**.

5. **Check [Google](https://www.google.com)** before posting.

6. **[Present the research](https://www.reddit.com/r/travel/wiki/submission-guidelines#wiki_show_what_you.27ve_already_found)** you've already done so we don't feel like we're doing everything for you; we are not your travel agents.

7. **Stay around** to answer questions or respond to comments. This applies to all questions, image, and blog posts. Do not delete posts with replies.  

8. **[Low-effort posts](https://www.reddit.com/r/travel/wiki/submission-guidelines#wiki_avoid_low_effort_posts)** ("Peru: tell me everything!", "Where should I go?") will be removed without further notice. [**Example of an excellent post**](http://redd.it/1a7y8n)

9. **Do not delete posts after receiving substantive responses**. It's rude to the people that responded and makes it hard for other people with similar questions to find your post.
