Is Mackayla a tradgedeigh?

The title says it all. I am not pregnant or TTC but I really like the idea of a girl named Michaela/Mikayla but with the nickname Mack. If I were to go with this name in the future, should I stick with the normal "Michaela" spelling and just use Mack if it suits her?

Definitely stick with the regular spelling! Your future daughter will thank you. What a lot of people don’t seem to realize is that you can spell a nickname however you want, so if she likes Mack then that works! It’s when they have a weird legal name where it becomes a tragedeigh.

I think Michaela is a beautiful name.
