Toronto
r/toronto•759.7K subscribers•249 activeI wanted to give a shout out to Quin and the other kind strangers who helped me get my very intoxicated friend and two bikes home from the Boiler Room event last night.
Quin - you rescued my helmet, kept my friend upright and were a voice of reason and kindness. I’m very sorry my friend got weird and send you all my gratitude for your help. Thank you.
For the people whose names I don’t know that helped me until I could get my friend a ride - thank you too.
Toronto you can be sweet and helpful.
For anyone wondering about the backstory: my friend absolutely refused to leave their bike locked up at the venue, but was far too intoxicated and struggling to walk it and themselves. I couldn’t get them to take a cab, and there was a lot of falling down. They are much larger and heavier than me, and I also had my bike, so you can imagine how smoothly this all went…
Last night I had way more to drink than I should have in Toronto. I was struggling to get myself home and was trying to wave down a cab. I was picked up by two men in their twenties. They ensured that I got back home and was safe. I cannot thank them enough for their support and care last night. I'm sharing this because my heart is full knowing that there are more good people out there than bad. Thank you from my bottom of my heart for looking out for a stranger.
