TIL about the Easter Sunday Massacre in 1975 where a man killed 11 members of his family. To date it is the deadliest shooting by a lone perp in the state of Ohio
“A year later, the house was opened to the public and all of its contents were auctioned off. It was then cleaned, recarpeted, and rented to a family new to the area, whose members were unaware of the murders that had taken place there. The new family later left the house, claiming they were hearing voices and other unexplained noises.” Must have been a fun auction

It’s wild that as recently as 1975, someone’s trial for 11 murders could start 3ish months after the crime and a retrial could start just a month or so after the first trial.
Today it might take a couple years for a murder trial to begin and if it was a big, complex case like this it would take even longer.
You have a 1 in 39 chance of being the victim of a violent or property crime in Hamilton Ohio. They have a crime rate higher than 90% of all of the rest of Ohio towns or cities. Rough place to live
