Seriously. Imagine it's hundreds of thousands of years...
I think about this at least once a day. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one.
“But we have no plan. There are no aliens. What are you talking about?”
“I don’t care. Nuke me out there.”

I hope we get to a point where the brain can be preserved like this in my lifetime cause I would do it in the hopes that I could be "restored" when the technology is there. If all goes well and we don't destroy ourselves I should last until 2060-2080 barring any major life events that result in an earlier death.
By 2080 we'll have come up with ways to destroy ourselves that we haven't even imagined yet.

Why would anyone restore you ? You are nobody
I’m me.
If one of us survives, we all survive.
Brain freeze from eating enough popsicles will help ward off Alzheimer's! Anyone try this?

I still have no clue what the point of sending a human brain to aliens so that they could reconstitute it was? the aliens can already see everything, everywhere on earth. wtf do they care about some random human brain?
Even if the sophons downloaded all our medical info about the human brain it would still be limited because to this day we still don't know how exactly it works.
With a living human brain and their advanced technology they could do experiments with it we could only imagine. Who knows? They might find a turn off switch that could be activated by a certain frequency. That's why it might be important to them.
Well if you read the books, you would know his role and how important it is to
Netflix Sophon’s are way to powerful represented. This almost made me stop watching.
I agree with the quantum entanglement thing but supercomputer? really? Is it possible to have a proton behave like a supercomputer? Wow! It would be amazing if this fictitious particle came out to be true. I couldn't imagine human civilization in that era. Who knows what's awaiting in the future? I want my brain thawed until then. :D :D :D
What if cryogenic freezing preserves your brain function to the point where you're basically entombed in your own body? Just conscious enough to still have thought or be in a semi-dreamlike state but completely unable to convey anything? You could potentially be experiencing unimaginable terror and torture for however long you're frozen.
There should be some form of output monitoring machine to depict brain activities that stabilize them.
I wanna go to the future so bad
Wow! Science fiction is coming to be true more and more.
The thing that trips me out about that experience is that you'd say goodbye and be put to sleep. Then BOOM. you're awake restored in a body engineered by aliens. It doesn't matter how much time passed between being launched and getting to the aliens. To you, it would feel instant.
