Worst thing(s) every character has done or said. Day Thirty: Morgan Jones
Show SpoilerHe cleared.
Yeah, I don’t think those dudes in the forest had it coming and I get the impression they weren’t the only ones he was massacring.
Morgan was basically like The Wolves for a minute.
You mean the father and son?
I just watched that episode and actually rewinded to see the facial expressions of those 2 people (if we are thinking of the same scene). My morals told me, why tf are they absolutely hauling ass at Morgan? Wouldn't the scenario be like "Hey Buddy you need help?!" not "let's run him down". They didn't look friendly originally, but they sure looked "innocent" when they fell to absolute dust by Morgan.
I'm interested to hear what you mean by didnt have it coming
i had remembered them being innocent too until i rewatched again recently and thought he was totally in the right taking out two (armed, if i remember correctly) people rushing him in the middle of the woofs
Definitely a sense of urgency amongst them
I just watched it, too, and if you look close enough you can see them hiding behind a tree waiting for Morgan to move. He realizes it, smiles, and goes, and then yeah we see them running (aggressively) after them. So they probably would’ve done something to him had they caught up with him. Still crazy but maybe justified in this case.
"And I see red, I see red, everything's red, everything I see is red, and I do it!!!"
I would argue that not killing at all was really the messed up part. So many lives put at risk because he refused to kill clear threats.
Did you say CLEAR
On ... sight??
let the man clear
Being indecisive too many times!
All life is precious
Clear
Make up you're dam mind!
It's to show how bad his mental health is. Especially when he saw little kids be killed.
Yes, but it was back and forth too much. It got annoying.
Rick's mental break was not so annoying.
Because rick mental health was different than Morgan's. Welcome to the apocalypse where your mental health turns shitty and u have no control of the trauma you are going through. The only wrong he did was allow the wolf to be alive. He should have killed him.
Im still allowed to be annoyed and find it his worst thing, regardless of what it is.
Yea true. I find it upsetting when people are fighting and others are in shock. That shit pisses me off forreal.
This. His indecisiveness on this topic is part of what made Fear such a boring shitshow in the later seasons. I can't remember exactly which one it was, I think Season 5, when they all started going around trying to help people, which screwed them over, and then he went right back to murking everyone on sight. And then back again. 💀
Fear was all over the place. He kind of secured the chaos of that. Well, that and Victors good or bad. I kept watching because I'm like, "What or who are they going to be this week?" Lol
Lol same here, I forced myself through it to see Madison come back and I was constantly moaning to the TV like, "What are you guys even doing right now ?" 💀
Lol. Waiting for the last season to come to dvd. Not sure how I feel about it. It did keep life interesting, lol.
Killing that father n son
Yeah. That was fucked
What episode? I’m drawing a blank for some reason
Pretty sure in season 5 or 6, during his solo episode.
Nah because why tf you following someone in the first place? It’s an apocalypse you shouldn’t be that stupid.
Re-watch that scene. They are following Morgan and he realizes it. They had bad intentions and were aggressively pursuing him. If you watch it you’ll see Morgan pause, smile, and continue on in the woods because he realizes they’re twenty yards back hiding behind a tree watching him (viewer can see this, too). When he continues on so do they. They would’ve done something to him if he hadn’t to them.
Not that other Morgan killings weren’t psychotic.
not killing the wolves when he first encountered them
Everyone (except Morgan): WE GOTTA KILL THESE MOTHERFUCKERS, THEY'RE VIOLENT AND THEY WANT TO DESTROY US!!!
Morgan: Nah fuck that
Then being like we have to kill all saviors when everybody didnt want too
LMAO dude I totally forgot about that!! Morgan's moral alignment was all over the place lol
Same goes me Carl.
At the prison Rick was going to see the Gov.
Carl wanted to go cause he rather learn how to survive outside in the world than live in the prison. Cause “story time is for babies”.
But once he sees Carol teach the kids how to DEFEND THEMSELVES, like rick did with carl.
But instead Carl decided to snitch.
Like he was taught at a young age on how to shoot a gun so what makes it any different for the other kids. Especially in the apocalypse. Carl almost got raped later one. Who knows what would happen to those children too.
Alexandria: Carl gets his eye shot out cause some simp kid wanted to “learn how to shoot” but instead wanted to kill carl over a girl.
Flip flopping Moral Jones.
Wait a minute... I can keep one as a pet and we'll become best friends!
On top of that he uses it as an excuse that he kept that one alive because he saved Denise and Denise saved Carl but hey jackass if you killed those two none of this shit would have happened in the first place.
Morgan’s hypocrite is annoying
Not killing walker Jenny which resulted in Duanes death.
I don’t care if he’s in the show for 1 episode, Duane was an actual good character though
honestly when i saw morgan come back, i wish that duane was still alive, maybe he would not have lost his mind. and maybe duane would've had a really good character development
And then leaving both walkers alive for over a decade
Would have probably avoided most of the other things in this thread if he'd managed this.
This is the shietiest plot ever. Duane die needlessly and conveniently so that Morgan can learn stick skills but still in ptsd state. I liked him in season 1 though but after that I just found him annoying to watch
Not killing the wolves who butchered, slaughtered, and burned innocent men and women alive. He let them go and they almost killed Rick. His whole bullshit about “If I didn’t spare the wolf, he wouldn’t have had Denise, and Carl wouldn’t have been saved” is the biggest piece of shit cope I’ve ever seen. Denise would have just been in the doctors office as normal if she wasn’t coerced by Morgan into coming to the jail cell to heal the wolf. Because of Morgan, she almost got fucking kidnapped and murdered. Carol is the only reason she’s alive. Morgan really was the most frustrating character for such a long time.
Couldn’t agree more, his arc and dialogues are both annoying and frustrating.
Yup.”All life is precious”.
Lets people who brutally murdered innocent Alexandrian’s and letting someone go who almost killed him twice. I guess those lives those wolves might take are pess precious than the wolves themselves
Showing up in Fear when it became bad
Sorry if you like season 4 onwards
Yup,Fear would have to be the worst thing he’s done
Bro season 6 was lit.
6 was great but that doesn’t make up for 4,5,7, or half of 8 sadly
I am now in mid s7 and as far i can see the only bad season was most of 5
I actually liked season 8 when I could forget how shit the villains are in that season. King County is my favourite episode from that season but I haven’t seen the second half.
killed a lot of innocent people in his crazy state, people seem to miss out on that.
His entire Clear phase, where he killed anyone, innocent or not.
I think it has to be the same as Rick, they did it together
It was pretty bad, but I think killing the father and son for literally no reason in his clearing phase was worse.
That wasn't for no reason. Those two were hunting Morgan and Morgan noticed them.
When does the show give any indication of that?
If the fact that they were clearly stalking Morgan through the trees wasn't evident enough, the kid apologized while Morgan was strangling him. It's quite evident they weren't following him for any friendly reason.
There are plenty of plausible reasons to follow someone that aren't malicious. Regardless, Morgan said aloud that he killed everyone he encountered for no reason other than "he's supposed to clear"
Nobody follows someone the way they were following him if they're friendly. But I understand what you mean.
Killing the father and son in his "CLEAR" arc
Not killing the wolves that then stopped Rick in the RV. Not convincing Ezekiel to fight with Rick resulting in Rick trusting Jadis.
Make Eastman get bited.
Leave Dakota alone with John Dorie
Leaving TWD to go to FTWD
Knocking Carol out when she tried to kill the Wolf.
It’s one of some stupidest shiet he had done
I don't even want to say anything negative about Morgan, even though there's definitely some stuff to say. I have such a soft spot for him, he's one character that always kept me entranced in his scenes. The guy who plays him is just a fantastic actor 😍
Just a straight up hypocrite when it comes to morals
And putting many people in danger because of that. His ego and hypocrite are irritating
Getting Eastman killed.
Killing the guys that ended up killing Eastman lol
Stabbing rick. I never quite forgave him for that one 😂
Losing that sweet earth toned AR.
Rosita uses it i believe till she’s captured by the savours and pops up used my Beatrice aswell
Locking Duane up in the attic being unable to kill him, and all his visions etc in fear
Definitely
Becoming a wanna be Shaolin Monk and wondering around a zombie hellscape with nothing but that damn stick.
Lecturing everyone that “All life is precious” no matter how hard a deranged guy is trying to kill you or someone you love.
Fighting Carol and knocking her out — over the life of that psychotic Wolf who had just engaged in a massacre of innocent people.
Even though “Clear” Morgan was over the top, I would have much preferred that when he snapped out of his psychosis, that he didn’t do a radical 180 and morph into a pacifist. Maybe just give him PTSD? But otherwise make him pretty normal?
I went from feeling attachment to him as an OG, to sighing when he made an entrance, because I knew he was about to drop a new age lecture on someone or have a hallucination.
*Note: I haven’t seen his arc on Fear so maybe he gets more normal.
Saying “all life is precious” 27 billion times
making ftwd boring
Constantly saying “Sit down before you fall down.”
Appearing on Fear The Walking Dead
Going to fear the walking dead
Killing everyone when he shouldn't and sparing everyone when he shouldn't
(he kills people he shouldn't and spares people he shouldn't)
Specifically, he should've killed the wolves. They spelled it out as clearly as possible that they were going to keep killing good people. He also shouldn't have killed the teamed up saviors. He has a lot of blood on his hands for his actions and inactions
Ruined Fear the Walking Dead
On the original show? It’s a toss-up between his Clear arc and not killing Jenny (which got his son killed). When he moved to Fear, he did some even more stupid shit
killing everyone in sight for 2 years
Not staying with the group at Alexandria
See red
Not shooting his wife.
Killing Richard RIGHT before they were about to start a war with the people Richard wanted to kill.
Basically Morgan in Clear Mode
Couldn't kill his wife, which led to his son being devoured by that same wife. He only waited about a decade to kill his son and then entirely forgot about his own wife altogether
He killed his wife after she killed their son. Her skeleton was seen in the episode where he goes back to King County to put Duane down
You know what it is. You were supposed to
Killed the wrong people. But when it came time to kill the right people he wouldn’t do it
“What happened to you?”
“…killed Richard”
Honestly the 2nd most chilling death in the entire series.
He didn't drop Michonne's ass after she stole his protein bar
let the wolf guy live
Going to fear
The worst thing Morgan Jones ever did is a tie with everything he ever did. Wether he was killing everyone or not killing anyone it was the wrong thing to do.
The only exception is saving Rick and schooling him to the game.
Locking that long haired savior behind the fence and stared him in the eyes as walkers ate him. All while he pleaded for his life. Guy had it coming but it was gruesome and shocked tf outta me
Morgan is just a big dumb hypocrite
Give Henry purpose
When he was "clearing." He would basically just murder everyone in sight and go through a self-hating phase. All because he didn't save his son from his walker wife.
“ I’m going to kill you because I CLEAR!”
1.Not wanting to kill bad guys in THE APOCALYPSE!! You can't trust people who are trying to attack you or your community and just let them go/live.
2.Becoming a crazy psycho who hears voices all the time.
Has anyone ever noticed Morgan ALWAYS looks like he just got a haircut?? This guy should have had a big Afro all the time especially before he got to Alexandria. Yet his hair was always neatly trimmed. Weird...
This cracked me right on up because it’s true and this is coming from a black woman.
Glenn lmao
He is a hypocrite. He strongly showed his hesitation to kill the bad guys (which had dangerous consequences to others) but in fact he’s a hypocrite and kill the dude that kill Henry’s brother. Also his ptsd lead to other people in danger or die(stabbing Rick or making his stick sensei die while saving him,…)
His hypocrite arc is annoying
Flip flopping between killing everyone and killing no one
Not granting his wife mercy, I directly getting Duane killed
Going to Fear the Walking Dead
Being in FTWD, it ruined his character
About the Governor, where is the horrible thing he's done to Maggie?
I’m a tad late to this list but that is an awfully generous list for Andrea 💀 hers has to be at least 20 pages. All she did was fuck everything up and do stupid shit.
Ruining fear
The worst thing Morgan did was ruin Fear the Walking Dead.
Being too much of a liability for too long. He’s either killing anyone he cross paths with or refusing to kill people that are clearly threats
Killing too much. Then not killing enough.
Making me dread/hate Lennie James, an extremely awesome actor and dude.
Or...
Taking over FTWD and absolutely running it into the ground. I have never struggled so hard to watch any show than his first season and a half of that.
Or (seriously)...
Trying to save/spare/release people who literally were promising to murder children as soon as they got free. That was even worse than his time as a crazy killer, IMO, as at least then he could plead insanity due to grief. The monk shit was ridiculous, and he was extremely annoying about trying to inflict his views on everything. You never heard Gabe trying to forcibly convert people like Morgan. Just fuck off and live alone in the woods, dude.
Runner up: killing Richard and/or the allied Saviours.
As an aside, I've never found the show more unintentionally funny as when Izzy from Galavant burned his precious stick because it was radioactive and he nearly threw a fit over it.
‘clearing’ constantly except when it mattered (eg the wolves, some of the saviours)
They really wasted Morgans (and so many other) character
Not being in enough of the main show (I really like Morgan)
Not putting down his wife which led to his son dying
Having a bad judgement in who to kill And Who not
Joining Fear The Walking Dead
Being a constant back and forth mentally
Leaving Fear to find Rick, only to (probably) never find him
Not killing Jenny or Duane when they became walkers
Forgiving Michonne for eating the protein bar, and later eating Nick's in FTWD.
When he ripped a dudes intestines out with his bare hands in 8x08. I think most people forget about that because of the trauma of losing Carl in the same episode
Selling his entire group out to Padre for his adoptive baby
He didn't kill his wife... let Dwayne die
"All life is precious "
Freed the wolves
-Not shooting his dead wife. -Clearing. -Not checking the radio every day at dawn.
Disappearing so often. He was a top 3 character for me!
Clear phase, no killing jarred sooner, not killing the wolves
Letting the doomsday cult guy that’s clearly hellbent on blowing up all the surrounding area live only for him to come back and steal the key and bring it to his leader which results in the nukes being launched and killing who knows how many people.
But the guy who he’s been traveling with for over a year? Yeah, I’ll poison him.
Fear Morgan logic was terrible. Then again, blame the writing.
trying to attack rick
Fighting Carol so hard to save the Wolves. They're cutting people up in broad daylight and here comes flighty Morgan trying to save them.
Anyone remember when he gutted the saviour guy? Can't remember his name
In the comics he left his zombifies son undead and fed people to him
I cant
Moving to Texas
Letting Tabitha the goat almost die. I can't remember but was it his fault she ended up dying in the end too? Like indirectly?
Letting Tabitha the goat almost die. I can't remember but was it his fault she ended up dying in the end too? Like indirectly?
Getting Eastman killed
Not killing the remaining wolves which rick had to clean up his mess when they ambushed him in the rv
Killing anyone on site for almost 2 years
