Hated the fact that it is wrapped
Psych. Such a fun show
The show is good if you watch the episodes with some gap in between.
If you binge watch it, you will find it very monotonously repetive with poor acting (aside from the main two characters) & dialogues
I binge watched it for the first time this year. Absolutely loved it
My husband and I love watching survivor together. All the seasons are on paramount add on for prime.
The Goldbergs
The Righteous Gemstones
Barry
The Bear
All three are really funny but also have good dramatic turns and episodes are usually at or under 30 minutes for all three shows with the odd special episode being longer. With the shorter runtime I found it a breeze to get into these shows and all of them had me legitimately laughing out loud.
Try I’m Sorry, with a couple seasons on Max.
Tulsa King
You might enjoy it and the episodes are somewhat shorter.
Comedy drama shows with short seasons:
Fleabag (can watch the whole thing in about 6 hours)
Hacks
Catastrophe
Starstruck
Chewing Gum
Suits
Halt & Catch Fire
Poker Face on Peacock is a mix of mystery and comedy. If you like How I Met Your Mother, I think you'll enjoy it for the humor.
Each episode is self contained. So, no need to watch it weekly.
Pokerface is great. Hope there is another season
Skins was HEAVILY influenced by LOST (close up of the eyes, each episode focusing on a individual character, big cliffhangers). While it could be argued to be a long drawn out drama, I find it a show that even people who don't really watch shows, falls in love with. The characters are amazing, and so is the soundtrack.
What? That's a big reach, in this case Heroes and multiple other completely unrelated shows had even bigger influence on Skins...
As If (2001-2004) was proto-Skins - episode titles literally included "POV", as for being focused on one of the MCs, the soundtrack played a big part of the show's appeal, and the camera angles were way more experimental than in i.e. Skins. Skins took what worked in As If and perfected it targetting slightly younger audience.
I'm not recommending As If to OP, it's not as good all these years later, there are way better shows in Skins/Euphoria spectre - like Skam and its international remakes, I highly recommend the original series, as it's possibly the closest to Skins, but a lot more grounded, so maybe a little less fun, but more "real", and the characters are similarly likable.
Lost is a great entertaining show, but I don't think OP would get into Lost, it's a mystery, it always leaves viewer hanging, and the comparison with Skins is way out-there...
I'd look into the highly regarded shows of the recent past, for example Game of Thrones was followed by so many people that normally don't watch tv (and in that aspect Lost was actually similar, but it was also the ultimate watercoller show, so the social aspect was a big part of the "experience", and all that's left now are the mysteries that kind-of need a "commitment").
Heroes started in late 2006. Skins started in early 2007, so Skins had already finished filming its first season by the time Heroes started airing.
This is not hyperbole, one of the co-creators and lead writers says it himself: "Lost was on at the time and I stole loads from that. Focusing on one character per episode is straight out of Lost. Loads of the episodes in the first series of Skins start with someone’s eyes opening – that was also stolen from Lost".
Haha that's true, I just googled the quote and the interview in question doesn't even mention As If, and both shows were broadcasted by the same channel, so it's not like they had to hide the obvious inspirations. Weird that the creator refers to Lost instead, if you're familiar with As If then you know what I mean, if not - the show is not great, but not bad either, it was recently uploaded on the official Sony India Youtube channel (yeah, I know, strange place...):

I still wouldn't connect Skins and Lost, but thanks for the clarification.
No worries dude. It was funny because I started watching Skins at a time when I was watching LOST a lot and even around series 3 and 4 I was thinking "Damn this feels a lot like a "drama" british version of LOST!". Even before looking up the quote. Like I know LOST gets pretty insane later on, but the earlier seasons, a lot were all character drama so I could see the cues.
While the mysteries all don't get tied up in a neat bow, I think many miss how much in that show is answered. There are of course level to satisfaction as to what is answered and what isn't. But a lot of questions that I wanted to know the most about are answered well enough for me, the open to interpretation questions (there isn't many) are really fun to theorize about.
BTW I'm gonna check out that "As If". I'll be interested to see what it's like.
So Help Me Todd

if you like euphoria and skins watch shameless
