I think its because as someone else said, Tito hated Stalin. I am a firm believer that Tito's Yugoslavia was the best authoritarian socialist model, of course It was very flawed but out of the other options, its the best.

Yep, I went on holiday to Yugoslavia in 1989. There was no fear of the police. I saw someone park illegally, across a pedestrian crossing, the police challenged him, he flipped them off and walked away. The police did nothing. Yes the driver was a dick, but he wasn't remotely scared of the police.

True, it was a strange hybrid place. Where I stayed on the coast was bright and vibrant, even if some places served absolutely dreadful gut rot liquor, though the local wine was good. Rijeka, the main city, a short bus ride nearby, was dull and depressing, horrible concrete tower blocks, typically Eatern European, and state owned heavy industry. I went into a department store that was very sparsely stocked, and chaotically laid out, except for the record and video section, which was fully stocked with the latest western releases and had a special offer on a complete James Bond VHS set. There were Mastercard and Visa Credit Card adverts everywhere from a multitude of local banks. Very strange place, but very friendly people. I went on a boat trip, and the aforesaid gut rot liquor was being pressed into your hands from 9.30 in the morning, totally free.
People I've talked to that grew up in Yugoslavia still said the police were corrupt, I knew someone who had the police crash into his car and they took him to court. In the end the judge ended up yelling and the police lol.

Bruh Yugoslavia was one of the two European countries (together with Greece) that managed to liberate themselves through a guerilla movement after being fully occupied by the Axis, how the fuck do they not consider that impressive 💀
And was actually able to keep the balkans stable under Tito, which is a crazy feat on its own.

Eh. It’s debatable on Greece liberating themselves. The Allies, in particular the Brits, used it to keep the Germans somewhat distracted from Sicily and Italy. The SBS was basically made there and the Italians helped in a weird way when Italy did its thing.

Yo Elite_Prometheus, I'm really happy for you, I'll let you finish, but Tito managed to maintain a peace between Yugoslavia's various ethnic groups that is one of the best displays of statesmanship of all time.

Ideological conflicts with the USSR aside, Yugoslavia wasn't exactly a success. It collapsed into about a decade of civil war, insurgency, and genocide. All of this happened because Tito's cult of personality was the only thing holding his system together.
From the perspective of a "coherent" tankie, Yugoslavia is a joke. The entire point of an authoritarian socialist state is to weather external and internal threats so it can contribute to the coming world revolution(tm). If it explodes into anarchic violence after literally one dude dies, then it doesn't really seem like a good example of an effective state.
Nobody wants to defend the country that famously made the USSR's collapse look clean.
by that logic, tankies that see khrushchev as a revisionist shouldn't praise stalin.

One explanation: we see that Tankies take orders from Moscow and Beijing, either knowingly or not. There is nobody left from the Yugoslav regime who's directing or paying them so no interest. Simply: there's no profit in it.
Because it wasn't a soviet puppet and had relatively good relations with the west. And unlike North Korea it was actually neutral. On the other hand the moment it became a Serb nationalist genocidal regime it became based to them again.
Ill offer another point, yugoslavia wasn't a massive power, and the other side of the cold war, much less of things to praise to prove yourself correct

Alongside Revolutionary Cuba, Yugoslavia was admittedly impressive. But tankies would shun it for being friendly to the West out of pragmatism, Tito hating Stalin, and, in all honesty, Yugoslavia not being famous enough to be demonized as a boogeyman by Western anti-communists. Because tankies thrive on contrarianism and shock value.
I mean, some of them do (especially if we include the people who conflate Serbia and Yugoslavia and think genocide is cool and good), but the big reason outside of those mentioned here is that, let's be honest, Yugoslavia didn't survive much past Tito. Hard to simp for a country that fell apart the moment its leader died, you know?

Also fun fact, Tito took a lot of loans from international banks to keep the Yugoslavian economy stable and didn´t pay because He thought capitalism would collapse before He died

When you're compared to Stalin though, the bar is about 200 meters underground, so you can just walk over it. Tito proverbially digging a 100 meter trench over the that bar to try and get under it anyway notwithstanding.

Marxist-Leninists overall have a politics of supporting specific historical lines instead of any type of programmatic politics, so since Tito was against Stalin and the Soviet bloc they denounce Tito and Yugoslavia
If we look at things realistically tho there was little difference between the “socialism” of Yugoslavia or the USSR and aligned countries… both were capitalist nation-states that simply declared themselves socialist while keeping capitalist relations
