Maybe one of you knowledgeable lads could help me out with my synthesizer. Just purchased a Moog grandmother and have been hopelessly looking for answers on how to properly connect it to my daw. I’ve got it connected to a Scarlett solo 4th gen, have all my drivers up to date, all firmware in the grandmother up to date aswell. Running the recommended Ts cable from the synth to my interface. I’ve also got my synth connected to my pc through usb. In FL studios, its showing that its all synced up and all options are enabled to start using the synth. When i play the grandmother it sounds like absolute shit. The audio quality is horrible, and sounds far from whats its fully capable of. I noticed in the audio options tab, it wont play audio off of my focusrite usb, but it does play off of the FL studio ASIO. Both sample rates and buffer sizes are matching aswell. If Anybody has any tips or tricks to stop my head from balding from all this stress, it will be gladly appreciated.
sounds like you're using midi only into your DAW, and the moog is just triggering whatever default sound is in there?
That's not the grandmother sounding like shit then, it's something else in the DAW
disconnect midi from the moog for now. just use the audio out into your daw as an audio track. once that's working you can sync via midi from the daw but get your audio right first
As someone else noted, disconnect the USB connection between your PC and the GM for now. Focus purely on the audio.
On the Audio connections tab, is it showing the Focusrite ASIO? If you activate a track in your DAW to take input from the correct channels of the Focusrite, and you play notes on the GM, do you see the db meters going up?
Edit: Another thing, on your PC/MAC, is the active sound device the Focusrite?
Kk! I got my synth usb unplugged and i do see the focusrite usb ASIO. Also i activated a track and i do see the db meters going up! Over on my PC, i do not have the focusrite active because no audio was coming out. A different user noted that no audio was coming out since i don’t have headphones connected to the interface. Makes total sense lol
