Maybe one of you knowledgeable lads could help me out with my synthesizer. Just purchased a Moog grandmother and have been hopelessly looking for answers on how to properly connect it to my daw. I’ve got it connected to a Scarlett solo 4th gen, have all my drivers up to date, all firmware in the grandmother up to date aswell. Running the recommended Ts cable from the synth to my interface. I’ve also got my synth connected to my pc through usb. In FL studios, its showing that its all synced up and all options are enabled to start using the synth. When i play the grandmother it sounds like absolute shit. The audio quality is horrible, and sounds far from whats its fully capable of. I noticed in the audio options tab, it wont play audio off of my focusrite usb, but it does play off of the FL studio ASIO. Both sample rates and buffer sizes are matching aswell. If Anybody has any tips or tricks to stop my head from balding from all this stress, it will be gladly appreciated.
Disconnect the Grandmother from your PC. Don't use any USB yet. Plug speakers or headphones 8nto the Grandmother. What sounds does it make?
I actually don’t have any 1/4 inch head phones or speakers to connect to the moog. All audio is running off the jacks of my PC. I’ll probably head to the store to pick some up here soon.
So you don't have the headphones plugged into the Scarlett? That's why you don't hear audio from the focusrite when you have the focusrite asio driver selected in FL. Because the sound comes out of the Focusrite headphone and speaker jacks, not your PC.
In addition to the other issue mentioned in other comments, that you're using the Grandmother as a MIDI keyboard currently, and not using the actual synthesizer, you'll need to listen to the audio through the Scarlett if you want to hear your synthesizer while recording it into your PC.
Makes total sense now that i think about it. Omw to pick up some 1/4 heandphones for interface.
OK, well, using midi won't play any of the sound you payed for with the Grandmother.
So you've never listed to it on its own? Your issue could be anything, including the Moog itself.
