Steam Deck

I found GTA 4 on sale on steam. It’s with Episodes from Liberty City included. I bought it yesterday and having blast with it. Runs smoothly without tinkering 60fps and 40fps locked with high settings 50 sliders. It looks nice on smaller screen. It’s still holds up in 2024, and for a 5.99 dollars you can’t go wrong with it. Installation is pretty easy, but Rockstar game launcher must be downloaded and registered account, it’s rather easy to do so. Works in offline mode in my case.

It looks beautiful. It runs at a solid 90fps. It takes under 2 min to find a full match.

You can mix control stick and mouse input which is great for gyro controls. I still need to tweak the touch pad controls.

I only played one match so far, but it exceeds my expectations.

Edit: it's also on sale for less than 10 bucks (forgot exactly how much)

Edit 2: yes I know the campaign is great. I played it on the PS4 years back. Maybe I'll replay it.

I completely understand battery technology has improved dramatically in the last few years, this post is out of genuine curiosity.

I’m currently charging my deck at least once a day, from around 10% I charge up to max, then I unplug and play.

Do these constant charging cycles have any affect on the battery? Does it affect battery capacity, or will it mostly perform the same throughout its life?

Wow, for 3$ it’s such a good deal. The deck also says a bunch of stuff about needing a keyboard and launch issues… there are no issues whatsoever. I highly recommend you pick this game up.

I recently bought a steam deck and thought it would be a cool idea to get Gmod. It worked fine but after a day it started sometimes crashing randomly and crashing when I choose certain weapons that I use all the time on other devices. I even tried reinstalling Gmod but it didn't work. It mainly crashes with weapons like arccw or mwbase. Is there any launch options or commands I need to put in the game?
