[RUDY GALETTI] Nuno Espirito Santo has been sacked from Al Ittihad. Now, the Saudi club should appoint a temporary coach while waiting to choose the new official manager.
News6th in the league right now 11 points behind first and they’ve gone 5 games winless in the league rn. Plus he reportedly lost the dressing room.
How do you lose a dressing room? It can't move.
No wonder he got fired
You forget to cherish it
Hi hungry, I'm dad !
Why did the walrus go to the tupperware party? He was looking for tight seal.
2-2-3 in all competitions during the last month. Already 11 points behind the pace in the league.
Sacked in the Saudi league. That has to be a new low.
If by "new low" you mean chucked into a well, then yeah, probably.
I'd get sacked on purpose, get paid out and don't have to do the work lmao.
I try to get sacked on purpose and I don't even get a payout
Doubt the contract laws are the same. We are talking about slave owners here
For the rich and famous, they absolutely will have decent severance packages. Otherwise, they wouldn't be able to poach big names from abroad.
But you'll hurt the potential to get hired in the future
After getting that Saudi payout I wouldn't need too haha.
probably didn't need to work after his few seasons in the pl tbf
True but the PL shows ambition so you could argue he wants a job for that, he chose Saudi for the money and he got it with a fraction of the work haha.
he got it with a fraction of the work
Last season he won the Saudi league, he treats this job seriously, unlike what Reddit thinks.
It's still a fraction of the work because he didn't fulfil his contract. I never doubted his commitment to the team, just his reasons to being committed to the team.
No one's going to care if a coach gets sacked from the Saudi league. Whole thing is a joke.
to be fair, that does come with the most massive payday imaginable for a trainer
now just go to Qatar and do the same and youre getting millions and millions of untaxed momey babyyyy rince them oil states dry (or dont go there in the first place ffs but ig this is the next best thing)
Assuming they pay it
Saudis tend to be fairly comprehensive when it comes to severance.
They’ll pay it; they’ve invested so much money into appearing amicable there’s no way they throw that away over a couple million to a coach.
Nah, Robbie Fowler got sacked a few weeks ago as well. And his team were second in the division
For real. Must have been something besides his coaching skills.
Just a year after winning the league
Free my boy Jota now
Poor fella on 250k per week, i feel for him, what a horrible existence.
Edit: Oh wait he played today in Iraq, i guess at least he can play in ACL if not in the league.
The unregistered status for him only applies in the domestic league. The club signed too many players this season that they had to unregister Jota. Don’t know how they or other Saudi clubs would operate in the Winter season with the foreign player limits.
Ootl, Can you please explain what is happening with Jota? And what's the exact situation? Thanks!
Club signed too many players, so unregistered Jota for domestic play. So he trains and plays with the club in ACL fixtures, but can't play in the domestic league. Still gets his bag regardless though which is ultimately what he went there for...
That's my dream job ngl
kind of like the Kalvin Phillips way
What the other guy said is true, but also some folks think that Nuno wanted Diogo Jota but the club bought the other Jota, so Nuno didn’t really want to use him anyway (not saying that Celtic Jota is bad).
Send him home!
Please be more specific!
Free him? He chose money over football lmao, who cares.
Man, why do you even think he went to Scotland in the first place. The weather? The women? Grew up as a fan of Celtic?
He moved to Celtic from Benfica after a successful loan spell. It's not like they'd pay much bigger wages than Benfica.
Highest paid Celtic player is on like €2mm per year. Benfica is dishing out €10 mill to players.
Think about the differences in quality between the Scottish and Saudi leagues, then come back and reply to my post.
Dont think anyone here knows he just won the league
Or care
I, for one, don't give a flying fuck.
Same.
So why comment? The current Saudi project isn't something that interests me and I'm not a fan of sportswashing, but it apparently gave an excuse for people to comment just on the basis of ignorance or arrogance.
It's funny because deep down what their disdain for the Saudi league in this manner is exactly the same they feel for any other league except the top ones, but this is the one where they can actually verbalise it without getting called out for it.
It’s just hidden Xenophobics. Only the West is allowed to compete in the sports and no other countries!!
A murderous, medieval dictatorships pr efforts to appeal to the west and "compete in sports" isn't the same thing, but I am oretty sure you already knew that and you're just shilling
“… A murderous, medieval dictatorships pr efforts to appeal to the west and "compete in sports" isn't the same thing,….”
One would‘ve thought that after the events of the last month blew open the narrative of “the west”, two things should be obvious:
1) ”The west“ are murderous, and they will shut down or ban protests to it, and imprison opponents, regardless of what you voted for….. which is dictatorship
2) “The west” still has a colonial mentality by which all others are deemed “medieval” and must be subjugated
The above are reminded that ”the west” has been a cesspool of hardly latent xenobobia in recent times, as exposed in the bizarre attitudes to the world cup graciously hosted by Qatar, which they did their best to spoil, and the abuse being received by the england captan Jordan Henderson.
People need to reflect on what is going on. Because its not good.
Don't you think a paid shill is a bit obvious when they answer to a post two weeks later? "Graciously hosted by Qatar?" Fuck off
If u think that the western leaders are any better you’re delusional. I learned that a long time ago. If u want to enjoy anything, from movies to sports, just know that the people profiting from it are peace of shits. Don’t act holy when it’s arabs
TIL John Henry murders journalists
Except western sports leagues aren't government funded, and western governments usually don't murder you for being gay, or disagreeing with the government on religion or politics. The fact that you try to spin this as if I was racist for saying so shows that you don't actually have a single argument. The saudi pro league is a pr facade, and shilling for medieval dictatorships only says stg about yourself
I’m Jamaican and not xenophobic at all… ppl just luv to call ppl racist for no real reason.
why comment?
Because Saudi bad.
Why sack him so ?
Bald fraud unironically.
Shout out to everyone that used to have an NES.
Fuck you Nuno, you forced me to Google the Saudi league to see how bad you were doing.
Anyway, idk how someone spends 100m on players with the current champions of an extremely lopsided league, to the point where you can't even fucking register some of them, and is somehow 6th almost halfway through the season
I'd be surprised if the managers are the ones in charge of all the recent transfers to the Saudi league.
They clearly aren't with some of the comments Nuno made
Some of them were the state themselves at least with Benzema and Mané having signed with the league and were allowed to choose their club.
What are you implying here, that paying a 36 year old 4,000,000$ per week in wages is not worth it?
One of those players was Benzema, and he didn't want him.
Btw, last year he won the league
Connor Stallions to Al Ittihad
But he made them proud :(
The Spurs way!
Not quite, he won a Trophy with them lol
Fat Tory frank has a new opportunity
Has Rudy Galetti gotten a single thing right about Saudi? I remember he lied about Jorge Jesus being under fire, also Ayrton Lucas to Al-Hilal.
I'm pretty sure the point of any coach going to the Saudi League is to get sacked so they can take the money and get the hell out of there. Cheers to you Nuno, you're free now.
Will be tough getting back on his feet, unemployment sucks.
Nuno is a good friend of Jorge Mendes, Nuno will be fine.
I was joking.
Was eventual after our last loss. Our last 5 games in the league have been tragic. Reports of a big argument in the dressing room happening after the ACL match were also circulating.
While I was his biggest defender 2 months ago, now I can’t lie but admit that he was being stubborn with the lineups and tactics. Of course not everything was his fault including key players being injured, but some of his decisions were straight up questionable. I’m not sure if he genuinely believed they were beneficial or what.
Anyways, sad to see it end like this after the amazing league winning season.
Zidane you have the opportunity to do the funniest thing…
How has Fabinho been for your team?
Best midfield duo in the league with Kante imo, despite the other big name signings and team form. He’s been injured for some time now though.
Flashbacks to wolves - incredible stubborn with his lineups and really questionable tactical decisions like keeping 7 players deep behind the ball against relegation teams that would play a low block - attacking with 1-2 people in the box and crossing and praying.
It has been officially confirmed now.
It's sad to see him go, but it was inevitable with the recent bad form and squad problems.
He was unlucky with injuries and not getting adequate replacements in key areas (defense), but he was also the architect of some of the problems.
Poor guy, will probably only get 10/20m pay off. (It really has become an obscene, vulgar business 'the beautiful game.'
Saudi is basically a league where players go to make big bucks before retiring. Did they really assume that the players will be devoted enough to strive to win every title and every game? Especially when they're making millions untaxed? As if sacking someone is gonna make a difference. They're gonna fail the same way china did. But they probably don't care because their only goal was sportwashing. Al Nassar would probably be the team which would strive to win every title because they've got that monster ronaldo who strives to win every game and title.
I’d never work in football again if I were him. Must be shameful to get sacked from a team in a mediocre league
he won the league last season lad
He probably wont need too, at least.
A Manchester United job may be in the waiting for another bald apprentice...
Bald to bald replacement lmao

Rudi Garcia disagrees
ADL disagrees*
Literally won the league last season.
It's not like the Saudi owners are known for great long term decisions though
Lol. Nobody cares if you get sacked from the Saudi League. I'd actually guess the goal of some managers is to get sacked as quickly as possible and get the hell out of there
Reckon it's the new foreign imports who are the problem.
If I'm the new manager, I'm desperately trying to find a club to take a few of the Big Time Charlies off my hands in January, even on a loan deal while paying a fraction of their wages.
That’s cute, you think the new manager will have any power over the circus.
Look at the flair mate, it was a joke given who the beneficiaries of such a loan deal would be.
Off with his head
Is he actually decent? I remember fighting him plenty of times in like old FM17 or something but haven't kept track of what he's doing in real life.
He won the league just last season.
Yeah his short stint at Spurs where he was in over his head and kinda setup to fail has given him a worse rep than he deserves.
Oh my God how bad is Nuno lol
I don’t care at all about Saudi football, but just opened this post to say that i hate the guy. Thanks and have a rest of good day
They doing shit this season, I'm guessing?
