Welcome back to Truck Talk! Last post went over the final member of the Voron family, the Voron D-53233. Today, our eyes are met with a series classic-the ZiKZ 612H Mastodon.
Pros:
-extremely strong, pulls anything
-ZHM tires+permanent AWD and DiffLock, plows through all terrain
-low and squatty, very stable
-long body, can rumble over rocks with little problem
-big fuel tank+roofrack
-tons of addons
-Rng3r made it!
-overall just an S-tier truck
Cons:
-front overhang is brutal, tapping it can completely stop the truck
-fuel economy isn’t the best
-handling is awful, as is the turning radius
-MY EARS THEY BLEED
-one of the only trucks that you could actually make an argument to be p2w
The ZiKZ 612H Mastodon (MAZ 7310 if you’re a nerd like me) is overpowered, plain and simple. For about 5 bucks, you can get one of the best trucks in the entire game. The Mastodon is truly one of SnowRunner’s kings.
The Mastodon storms (or screams) out of the gate with a vengeance. Combine the excellent ZHM tireset, a beefy engine, permanent AWD and DiffLock, unique gearbox, huge fuel tank, a low and squatty and stable body AND a stacked roofrack and you have an off-roader that will go anywhere-but keep an eye on the Mastodon’s jaw…
Then, the addon capability. The Mastodon’s addon list is huge for a truck it’s size. 3-slot bed, a water tanker, heavy crane, logging…it can do it all. Thanks to the powerful engine none of these addons hurt the truck. And I will never complain about a 3-slot bed.
The Mastodon isn’t flawless and…oh…yeah, sorry about the bleeding ears from the truck shifting. Also the front overhang is really annoying since it gets stuck on everything. The handling is (expectedly) terrible for a Soviet 8x8.
The ZiKZ 612H Mastodon is a legendary vehicle and what it can do in this game is incredible…but I’m not the biggest fan of using it since it’s so good. However, when you need it, it will pull through every time.
