Been hitting the parks in order from how far they are from me to since i got a diamond pass this uear . Over texas and great America are both 7.5 hours away and I'll probably be going in late July. The other one I might get to hit in August if budget permits; pros and cons of each?
it’s probably because it’s spring and beginning of season, summer the amount of employees and restaurants, shows etc will all be up
Guess it depends if you want to burn to death in Texas temperatures.
Great America revamped a decent amount of the food over the off-season, opening weekend was this weekend and people seemed pretty jazzed about the new options. They are currently having an issue with their POS system but that should resolve in time.
Food sucks taste wise but it is always fast
What? I was there yesterday and the line for the turkey legs moved at a snail's pace. It was the worst part of the day by a mile.
-Much better individual rides with Titan and New Texas Giant whereas Great America doesn’t really have a star attraction (some people love raging bull, some love Goliath, but the only attractions unique to great America are American Eagle, Goliath, and the Whizzer)
So Maxx Force, the most forceful acceleration on a roller coaster in the world isn't a star attraction?!
You have it backwards. Great America's collection of coasters is hands down better than Over Texas. The only real stand out at SFOT is Mr. Freeze. Goliath is better than New Texas Giant, Raging Bull is better than Titan, and then you also have the indoor wild mouse Dark Knight coaster, a wing coaster with X-Flight, one of only a handful of impulse coasters with Flash Vertical Velocity, and then you also have the classic rides on top of that like Whizzer.
Now if we were talking Great America vs Fiesta Texas that would be a much closer comparison.
So Maxx Force, the most forceful acceleration on a roller coaster in the world isn't a star attraction?!
Maxx Force is literally 23 seconds long. It's more of a gimmick than a star attraction.
I think Maxx Force is definitely a standout coaster. 2nd fastest acceleration in the world, just 2 mph behind number 1.
I would honestly take almost anything at Great America over what Over Texas offers except maybe Shockwave and Mr. Freeze. Goliath is significantly better than New Texas Giant. I love the high g helixes on Titan but Raging Bull is a great ride. After those 4 at Over Texas it is pretty tame. At Great America you still have Superman, Maxx Force, Demon, American Eagle, Viper, and X Flight.
The biggest issue I would say is that the heat of Texas, especially a midweek day, keeps crowds light at Over Texas
Goliath is ass my dude and lasts like 5 seconds
I didn't say it was great, just said it's better than New Texas Giant.
I was at over texas on Friday. It wasn’t great. Anything related to customer service is a joke. They don’t have enough employees to effectively run the place, meaning most of the restaurants were closed, all of the shows were canceled and over half the rides were closed. I know when school is closed for summer they’ll have more people working, but by then it’ll be 110 degrees in Texas.
