True, but if they're gonna put in all that effort, it needs Patrick's house too. Feels incomplete without it.
There’s a bunch of tiny blue Patrick’s houses
Is it shitty though. Those old CRT tvs had a lot of space for the tv. That and having a hide away for filtration, aeration and cleanup and the interior space just for the screen looks to be an easy 25 gal in its 20x12x24. The only thing questionable is that angel fish which the internet suggest 20-55 as the minimum gallon. I know their is hate for sponge Bob but this if it's done right could be a great unit
If it’s done right, yeah, but it isn’t. Dyed rocks, two angels in a 25G, fake plants, decorations too small for them to get trapped in. Hard to see if there’s any proper equipment hidden in the tv but with these basic things visible, it’s hard to be optimistic
Very true. These type of tanks can definitely toe the line of being truly great vs being an acrylic toilet
Thats very petty.
I agree with the "could get trapped" problem and the stocking choice being angel fish, but if it was actually good stocking then its perfectly fine as an aquarium.
Decorations that doesn't look good to you does not count. Just because most fishkeepers find fake decorations and colored gravel "tacky" and "unoriginal" does not make it shitty.
Fr, fake plants and colored gravel arnt gonna put a fish in danger
Tell that to the fish that ended up with shredded fins because of a plastic plant I had in my aquarium. I had a decoration with some fake plants (only fake plants in my aquarium) attached to it, I liked the decoration (a meditating woman) so I ended up pulling it out and removing the fake plants that were attached to it and worked great after that. No more torn fins.
Could have been a bad quality fake plant. Saying all fake plants are gonna slice fins is a huge assumption. Iv had them in my tank for years and never have had issues
nah hard plastic is more likely to splice fins. if going with fake, silk is best!(:
Wouldn't regular sand have been way more accurate than blue pebbles?? Like they went with a theme but didn't match everything.
This is a fucking awesome aquarium tho, and the ONLY appropriate time to use the SpongeBob stuff. Perfect execution! On another note, I have been wanting to do this forever to an old TV set. One day.
It’s great as long as she has the right set up hidden in it (I hope). But not the right stocking for the tank at all! I’d also switch the colorful gravel to something more natural for the actual authentic SpongeBob look. (bikini bottom didn’t have blue gravel lol). But I do love this idea when done right! I always wanted one of my own!
At the end of this clip you can see the heater and filter intake, the heater is definitely big enough and the filter intake looks like it's from one of the bigger aqueon HOB filters which should be plenty for what looks like a 20 gallon tall. The angels were definitely a bad choice for stocking the tank for both the tank size and theme. I'd probably have gone for some scarlet badis or something similar that's small, colorful and stays towards the bottom of the tank.
Agree about the sand, but it doesn't look bad with the blue gravel, it gives it a bit more of a cartoony feel. It'd be pretty cool to have one of those moving backgrounds that they use for making claymation movies though to really finish out the cartoon/TV theme.
I think it’d be really look to try and find fish to represent each character too! Like pink/yellow/blue guppies for sponge, squid, and pat, a cherry shrimp for Mr. Krabs, maybe an itty bitty green fish for plankton🤣
I know it is a crappy aquarium but I am glad to see they didn’t add 10-20 fish into it.
Poor angel has enough to deal with.
Shitty because of stocking. They should have went with tetras or a betta!
I believe that’s a 15 gallon flux
I’m going to end up having to unsub soon. Shitty aquariums used to make me smh now it just seems like people bitching that an aquarium either isn’t their taste or isn’t absolutely perfect requirements.
Tbh I love SpongeBob and this tank is cute af. Only wish it didn’t have an angel fish in it.

No, shitty aquariums means its an actual shitty aquarium. Not "Ugly" aquarium, Not "pushing the limit on stocking" aquariums, not "it doesnt have plants" aquarium, An actual Shitty aquarium that fish will 100% not survive in.
I mean.. but is it shitty though?

angelfish need 20-55 gal
Removed for rule 3.
But not removed for rule NUMBER 1 yeah ok
I actually think this is a pretty cool aquarium. Looks like plenty of room for one fish.
Tbh this would have been really dope with a saltwater set up with a sea sponge and a starfish
Oooooooh who lives in a fish tank shaped like a tv???
Um.. angel fish is the wrong choice, otherwise this would be a cute tank for a children’s playroom.
Wouldn't be so bad if she'd cycled it first!
This would be soo cute with some little tetras instead of those poor angelfish.
It's cliche and kitschy but I wouldn't call it shitty
Not even close to shitty. That's a pretty decent aquarium for your average fish owner. 2 angelfish in a 20gal isn't going to create any problems. Strongly opinionated OP. As long as there is some sort of minimal filtration/aeration, those fish will be live fine for a long time.
To me shitty refers to actual brain dead setups. Not half decent fun setups. Even personally, i wouldn't consider this to be below 5 on a scale of 10, where 10 is your best setups, and 0 is a 6 betta community in a 2gal.
Fish: Ah yes. Blue gravel, weird colored ornaments, fake plants, crystal clear water. We’re home in the back waters of the Amazone Steve! We’re going to be so frckin happy here!
Seen shittier
This may be the only way to display this decor that makes any sense 😂 I would have went with sand though and river rocks for the paths. Definitely a different fish choice.
I can’t get over these people who spend hundreds of dollars and hours making such shitty living situations for a live animal. Imagine putting this much effort into getting a proper filter and like, I don’t know, 50 gallons or something.
WHY is there always a pineapple in these shitty ones?? I don’t understand.
It'd be an awesome tank if they did it right, so disappointing. I hope the fish are okay.
Just put a sponge. Done.
poor fish cant even hide, cuz these decorations are too small for it
At least it's not a flat TV... Could be much worse...
kid: Mom I want fish tv
Mom: we have fish tv at home
The fish tv:
Not angels!! 🫣 maybe guppies
Even though it’s a terrible size and not suitable for fish, at least they tried making actually look like it’s from SpongeBob, rather than putting some random pineapple home/decoration in there.
The blue rocks and sponge bob houses ruin everything. It would’ve been so cool if it was a sick bioactive aquarium with a freshwater fish in it
That’s awesome!
I think cardinals instead of angels would be great
So many houseplants. Just give the little bro a real plant
I think it's neat, bad stocking thou. But it's the first sponge bob aquarium I've seen that I actually liked.
