I've been offered a chance at a Sharpei puppy, but I'm undecided and want some opinions both for and against.
I've (38m) had small and large dogs all my life, my preference being the medium to large sizes (had Chihuahua, Terrier, Dingo and currently a mini foxie) the Foxie is old (14f) and stubborn but generally an inside lap dog. I've always said the next dog I get will be of a larger breed once she passes but we have the option to take a Sharpei now, and this opportunity may not come around again.
So I'm weighing my options against not just the puppy but the old fur baby already at home. Is this breed one that can adapt to a smaller dog in the family, or is she always going to be "on the menu"? Is a Male pup or a female pup going to make a difference?
