I put my jetski in reverse and it wouldn't rev past 4000 rpm. On the trailer to goes past 7000 rpm. What should I check?

Probably a stupid question but I can't seem to find anything. I used to have a 2015 spark and the idle speed was slow enough that I maybe had to press the throttle a little with no wake. I just put these in the water and I'm going like 6 mph idle and making a lot of wakes. Again probably a dumb question but how do you go slow in these situations?

Has anyone noticed, specifically on the Spark Trixx that the handlebars become wobbly over time?

Like, idk how to explain it but if you try and shake the base of the handlebars, you can shake it back and forth , idk maybe an 1/8th of an inch. If this doesn’t make sense I can get a video and upload with this post but was curious if anyone else has had this issue

Considering purchasing a 20’ GTI 170 and an 18’ Kawasaki 160LX off my buddy (so I know they run good and no current issues). With a nice Seadoo two place trailer for $13k

The GTI has only 30 some hours, the Kawasaki has +-400 hours. Buddy took them into a local shop and had them serviced earlier this year and anything that needed replacing like oil/spark plugs was replaced. Came out to about $800 worth of service

Question: I wanted to reach out to the community and see if there are any things I should watch out for that are common issues with these skis? Preventive maintenance? Appreciate the info

I have a 2023 Seadoo Wake 170 that I use to pull the kids on tubes. Due to the low attachment point on the jetski and the fact that most tubes attachment point are on the bottom of the tube, the line sits low in the water vs boats which often attach the line multiple feet off the water. As a result we either get a lot of splash on the cleat on the tube or the line drags as it's swung through the wake. I'm now using a booster ball which has helped some. I'm looking for recommendations for 2 person tubes (ideally sitting vs laying down) that specifically work well for jetskis with lower line mounts. I was thinking of one of the tubes with the multi-point front harness which extends more from the middle of the front like on a mable vs a single low mount attached to the bottom front of the tube might be better.

My Trixx has been bogging down so I went to our local Powersports dealer whom I've gotten to know on a first name basis and asked him his thoughts. He advised I do an oil change and change the plugs- also run an injector cleaner through the next tank of gas. If it doesn't help; we will explore further. I changed the no. 3 plug without issue. Plugs 2 & 3 were really hard to get out so I lubed them and let sit. My husband decided he wanted to "help" without my knowing (I'm the wife and I prefer to do my own maintenance on all of my performance vehicles)- he came to me to tell me he was able to get no. 2 out but the new plug was hard to get in. I asked him to stay away from my ski and I will take care of it. He didn't listen and came back to me 20 minutes later to tell me he F'd up and the plug broke off.

(I'm FURIOUS! Hubby is now in hiding under witness protection because he knows just how pissed off I am right now. How stupid... and 2 days before the 4th of July holiday)

Can I use a spark plug extractor to release the stuck part of the plug or will I need to remove the whole head to get it out?! Any advice is truly appreciated!!

Hello, I am having trouble with my 2017 Spark 3up w/o IBR. Bought it used with about 75 hours on it. Dropped it in the water, worked good and took it over to the dock, next time I started it up, there was no acceleration above 10mph and the RPM won’t go above 5500, when it gets to about 5k it instantly drops to 3k rpm and blares a beep with a CEL. No code displaying on dash either.

Not sure what the issue is and very disappointing as the seller replaced spark plugs, oil and filter, as well as batteries.

So far I have checked / tried:

Impeller / wear ring looks good Topped up coolant Took Spark plugs out, one was really loose so I torqued it back down.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated and thank you in advance!

What can you explore if you can only get 300 hours.

Very sad to see, not even worth buying a jet ski these days.

Maybe the company should start focusing on keeping its products working rather than selling overpriced machines that die after a couple hundred hours

Im going to the beach this upcoming weekend and will be staying on the intercostal. Is it a bad idea to leave my 2023 rxtx 300 in the water for the duration? It will be ran everyday. Would be in the water about 48 hours in total. As soon as I take it out it's getting flushed and scrubbed off asap.

Replaced the stator after this sat for awhile. The stator came with the trigger coil. Put everything together. No spark, no voltage on the coil white wire. The white wire is grounded from the cdi. I read this happens for a couple reasons.

Kind of confused as to where to go from here. Can anyone help?

I have ac voltage coming from the trigger coil, about .2 volts ac when cranking to the cdi. Why won’t the cdi provide 12vdc to the ignition coil? What can I check next?

My 2018 Spark started running weird while on the water today. When I hit the throttle from a standstill I get very high RPM but very slow acceleration, I have to feather the throttle to get it up on plane then seems to run normal once I do. Also noticed a bit more vibration than usual from the jet drive.

Any suggestions on where to start to diagnose this? Thanks in advance!

I'm having an issue with my 97 GTI, I got out on the water and after a couple hours of riding, it started to sputter when I accelerated and it wouldn't go very fast at all I killed it and restarted it once and it was okay for about 30 seconds until it started to do it again i then killed it again and the battery was too low to start it. I went home and charged the battery and then i went back out the next day and same thing happened, after a couple of hours of riding fine it started to sputter and wouldn't accelerate. luckily I was close to the boat ramp and I was able to idle back, while going back it started to run really rough and cut off once. I think there is an issue with the charging system.

Any ideas?

(EDIT: Neither of the gauges on the dash work and I'm only running at about 35mph, not sure if that changes anything but just thought I would mention it)

I’ve been running the bilge pump that comes with the seadoo sparks and have had two of them go out within 1 year, I’m lookin for the absolute best one that’ll last. I’m wanting to have it on a on off switch, any reccomendations?l
