I was left speechless on my walk thru the loin to get civic center today.

Walked down larkin to get to the show. I was stunned at how clean the tendie was. The sidewalks, the alleyways, not just cleared out but actually clean. I lived in the TL for 10 years, and today was the cleanest I have seen it, and im not talking clean by TL standards, it just fucking clean. I'm guessing maybe the city cleaned it up for the show, hope they keep the momentum.

Stop DJing at Parks

I don’t know if I’m just a grumpy person but it’s incredibly annoying people bring a whole DJ set to a park (generator, massive speakers, etc.).

I don’t mind a bit of music on a Bluetooth speaker but don’t force everyone to listen to you.

Lack of coordination: street repaving next to Union Street Fair

Who in the world of SFMTA decided to break up asphalt and repave the 2100 block of Green St on the same day of the Union Street Fair? The main concert stage and seating area on Webster is directly below the start of the work. And to be honest, after the mess of last September in the same neighborhood (sinkhole), many neighbors are tired and done. Great management by the D2 sup and city offices.... not.

Can the whole city hear the bass?

Hi what is that bass/concert music sounds I am hearing from my friends place in Potrero hill ?? It can't be the skrillex concert...that seems to be too far.

Great walking tours

I want to recommend San Francisco City Guides for people looking to take a great guided walking tour.

https://sfcityguides.org/

It's a non-profit organization, the guides are volunteers. There's a wide variety of tours. We did the Palace of Fine Arts/Marina tout, the Gold Rush tour, and the Presidio tour. Guides Mary, Stephen and Blake were fantastic. The guides are locals with deep knowledge of their city and its history and features.

The tours are free, but they encourage donations to keep things going. The recommended amount is $20 per person, but you pay what you want and can afford.

The presentations are interesting and the guides provide visual materials to show what things used to look like, and such. The tours run from 90 minutes to two hours, but we found the time flies by because the topics are interesting and engaging. One of the guides emailed us supplemental material for further reading.
