I'm wondering if my experience was uniquely awful or if maybe I'm just not a cruise person. I went to Alaska on Brilliance of the Seas. Things started rough with my luggage arriving to the stateroom badly damaged. Missing wheels and cracked multiple sides of a hard sided suitcase. The stateroom restrooms all smelled strongly of human waste the entire week. My friends on other decks and different staterooms reported this as well and the smell was present even in the public restrooms onboard. Is this normal? I feel like I would have heard something about that in my research leading up to the cruise. The entertainment onboard was almost nonexistent. Sea days were chalk full of next cruise, shore shopping presentations, excursion sales pitches, and pushy bingo card sales. One comedian performed for 1 hour during my assigned dinner as did a magician. That was pretty much it. My large group of experienced and inexperienced cruisers was pretty disappointed. Did I set my expectations to high or does any of this sound out of the ordinary?
