Hey all! I'm trying to figure out which Grand Suite would be best for a Southbound Alaskan Cruise on Radiance. My guess would be most of them on the Port Side for the best views, but I wanted to see if anyone had any experiences to share about their rooms (location, noise from above, ease of access, etc.) and if there are any preferred locations.
Favorite Grand Suite On Radiance For Southbound Alaska?
Advice NeededThose aren’t suites anymore! We just booked an aft balcony and they’re calling it a “spacious sunset view balcony”.
All other cruises it’s been a Jr. suite. I’m not mad, just disappointed.
How's the ride in the back? I think izumi is directly above the aft suites so I figure there will be some noise from that.
I’m not sure if the itinerary runs the inside passage, if so no problem. We only heard people on their deck above and below.
I did that cruise a couple weeks ago with a room on on the port side. I wouldn’t say that the side matters. When you leave Seward might be the only time it could but to be honest the majority of the time you will be between land masses. When you do Hubbard glacier the captain will spin the ship around a couple of times. So everywhere will have a great view then.
We were just on this ship on the starboard side and port definitely has better views consistently. We spent a lot of time in our room so it was noticeable. If you don’t plan to it may not matter. But also having the sunset blast our room in the evening (on the two sunny days) was unpleasant. We had to close the drapes because it was so bright and hot.
Thanks! That is something I didn't even think about with the sunset.
By the way, do you happen to remember what the MDR menus were for your sailing each night?
No, sorry!
The aft (stern:back) of the ship is best but might have a partially obstructed view. Next would be on the port for during the inside passage.
